The Left continues to spit in the face of the working class.
As sometimes happens with Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.), he let his mouth race ahead of his brain Wednesday night at a gathering of Young Democrats at the Washington nightspot Acropolis. After presidential candidate Howard Dean spoke, Kennedy delivered an impassioned peroration against President Bush's tax cut. We hear that Kennedy told the crowd: "I don't need Bush's tax cut. I have never worked a fucking day in my life." With that he got the audience's attention -- the dropping-jaws kind. "He droned on and on, frequently mentioning how much better the candidates would sound the more we drank," a witness told us. "Finally, he had to be stopped by a DNC volunteer." Kennedy's spokesman, Ernesto Anguilla, told us yesterday: "He was talking to the crowd; it was a rally-the-troops kind of speech about the tax cut. He was energizing the crowd and got caught up in it and used an unfortunate word, which he regrets using. . . . And no one pulled him off the stage."

There are two kinds of lefties
1) the Kennedy type
self-flagellating rich people (almost always inherited wealth) who feel better about themselves if they talk like they care about the common man.
2) the Indymedia type
the have-nots who think they are too smart to be where they are -- therefore the problem is with the system, and not with themselves. Hence the desire to loot from the productive class.

Since when is Kennedy on the "left" - which, almost everywhere on earth, would mean that he is a socialist, anarchist, anarcho-syndicalist, or a worker who has at least some sympathy for one of those movements? And how, exactly, is admitting the obvious fact that he has never worked a day in his life insulting the working class? The real insulters are people like GW Bush, who actually claim that they have been workers of some type themselves - as if Bush ever had a boss insult him, had his nerves frayed by a production quota, been threatened with a layoff if he complained about bad conditions, or had to put up with drunken, rude or threatening "customers" because these people represented potential profits for the boss or the stockholders. Give me a break. Some of the young people getting shot at in Iraq are there not because they have any love of the military, but because they see college tuition assistance as a way to escape the nightmare of working class life - while Bush's daughters drink themselves under the table while preparing themselves for some no-work jobs as
"administrators" in a corporation, government bureaucracy, or private non-profit. Maybe more rich members of the US ruling class should be plied with alcohol so that they, too, can blurt out the truth about what the US class system really is.

Listen Wankers... the Kennedys, Clintons, and their DEMONcratic party are NOT Leftists!
There is a HUGE difference between Liberals and Leftists. Liberals want to work within the system and "reform" it. They see no need for structural change and fully support Capitalism.
Leftists on the other hand consider the Liberal program a stab in the back to working class interests. Leftists are hardly interested in "reforming" the system... rather, intense structural change is desired, a complete overhaul or replacement of the status quo is seen as necessary.
While Leftists can work with Liberals in reform movements... Liberals shrink at the idea of working with Leftists. The two are NOT "joined at the hip" as some dim bulb suggested. Those who ARE joined at the hip are the know nothing cultural conservatives who throw their lot in with the neo-fascists who run things. The Left DEFENDS the working class and it's interests... the Right (particularly those in power), seek to excercise power OVER the working class.

You ALMOST got it right. You said "Right (particularly those in power), seek to excercise power OVER the working class"
CORRECTION: The right DOES exercise power over the working class.
By the "Right", I mean that those with power and money tend to support politics and policies which stabilize the power structure. Before, that meant "WASP Republican". Now, the "Right" is colorless, and no longer is composed of just Republicans. I am not a white man, but I am quite well off, and I resent any attempt by left wing/liberal losers to usurp the political system to get around having to work and otherwise EARN the right to exercise power.
That means you have to get an education, learn how to make money (or if you are fortunate, you can become a successful entrepreneur without necessarily going to college), and then learn how to BUILD on your successes. If you dont know how to do that, then you dont deserve what you have. That's what keeps the occasional riff raff out of the Power Classes. Let me explain:
Lets suppose that a lottery winner, musician or an actor suddenly becomes a multi-millionare. They can now BUY a mansion, drive an expensive luxury car, travel, etc. Thing is, because they dont have the skills to keep such trappings, their entry into the "Power Class" is merely transient. Within a relatively short time, they find themselves right back where they started. All the while, they found themselves snubbed in the REAL power structure. In the same vein, those in the Power Class who accidentally fall into the working class by reason of say....a stock market crash ot other unforseeable event will find themselves back where they belong in a relatively short period od time because they KNOW how to get back there.
"Red and Proud?" What is that supposed to mean, they you got a bloody nose and you still hold your head high? INDEED.

How gauche.
After the revolution, leftists won't have to work, because the proles will need someone to "think" for them.
So they "deserve" a car and a nice house, because, after all, "thinking" is hard work, and the proles aren't equipped...just ask Dio.

It's quite a jump to generalize from Kennedy's drunken speech that the Left Spits on the Working Class. Kennedy is just one person, not the entire Left. You're projecting.
There are plenty of people on the right who could have said the same thing - about not having worked a day in their life, and not needing a tax cut.

"And we need major legal reform. The Death Penalty should be univeral in all 50 states. Depraved and ruthless murderers like Wesley Cook (aka: Mumia) should be promptly executed rather than pampered for years and years). Terrorists, especially foreign terrorists like Massoui should not be given any rights. They should be shipped off to Guantanamo ASAP. We need Patriot Act II and Patriot Act III to get control or our out of control legal bullshit system"
ok man, idon't know much on mumia; at least it seems like he's a slime, but did you know that 1/3 of death row inmates are ultimately proven innocent??
And the problem with alleged terrorists having no rights means it cld be you or me someday. don't you c?

"but did you know that 1/3 of death row inmates are ultimately proven innocent??"
Beyond the fact that 1/3 is a gross exaggeration (check the stats), some..mind you..a very small sum, ARE found innocent and released which proves the system does work.
You'll find exactly ZERO cases of anyone found to be not guilty after they were executed. Try it.

many innocents are coerced by cops(threat of death penalty) to plead guilty and settle for 20yrs+.
If there were no death penalty?
