Ashcroft says were winning the war on civil liberities now I need to start killing "terrorists".

Ashcroft said that the authorities need still greater powers to track terrorists. The Patriot Act, as the sweeping anti-terrorism law that grew out of the Sept. 11 attacks is known, has sparked official votes of protest from more than 100 communities around the country because of civil liberties concerns, but Ashcroft said that the law does not go far enough and "has several weaknesses, which terrorists could exploit undermining our defenses."
