Chumpsky rides again

by Barney Friday, Oct. 10, 2003 at 4:38 PM

File not found eh? Looks like fate has dealt you a favour. You can now spend the time that would have been wasted listening to the cynical ravings of Chumpski by going for a walk and clearing the dope out of your head.

I might just try it sometime

by Epper Friday, Oct. 10, 2003 at 4:44 PM

But the only dope is you.
Professor Chomssy is well beyond your ability to deal with.
Glad it pisses you off.
I have some problems with him, but recounting history from mainstream sources isn't one of them.
You are either a fool or a spook or both.

Name Calling Usual Right Wing Tactic

by krankyman Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003 at 5:28 AM

When you can refute his analysis on a point by point basis, then you will have more credibility. Just calling him a name and then high fiving each other shows the adolescent nature of the discourse you cheap labor conservatives provide.

All you need to know about Chumpsky

by Barney Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003 at 6:49 PM

All you need to know about that campus freak is that he regarded Pol Pot as a hero.

You probably already know that, so I'm prolly wasting my time talking to Marxist flat-earthers.

further information required

by Sheepdog Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003 at 3:31 PM

I take it you mean this paragraph. Tell you what give me a page that this refers to and I'll read it to see if in fact this is true and not some distortion. I have read most of Chomsky's works and don't remember this.

-Although information was hard to come by, Chomsky suggested in an article in 1977 that post-war Cambodia was probably similar to France after liberation at the end of World War II when thousands of enemy collaborators were massacred within a few months. [...]This was to be expected, he said, and was a small price to pay for the positive outcomes of the new government of Pol Pot[...] Chomsky cited a book by two American left-wing authors, Gareth Porter and George Hildebrand, who had “presented a carefully documented study of the destructive American impact on Cambodia and the success of the Cambodian revolutionaries in overcoming it, giving a very favorable picture of their programs and policies.”-

I like to check out things for myself.

True

by Barney Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003 at 5:22 PM

He doesn't deserve the attention he gets, I only intervene here because I'm concerned that his cynical propaganda will destroy the lives of talented young people with a lot to offer to society.

Chumpsky is a cynical manipulator of the truth but of course those who are older and wiser see that he reveals himself as a charlatan by what he chooses to omit from his account of history.

He's a bad man, because he's intelligent enough to know that he's doing wrong, but not clever enough to stop himself from going over the edge into untruth.

He's a bitter little man driven by envy and hatred and he doen't care how many young lives he wrecks along the way.

Nothing bogus here, sheepdog

by Barney Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003 at 6:42 PM

Your mentor Chumpsky is on record defending the slaughter committed by Pol Pot, comparing it to postwar France, oddly enough.

Did you like the article? It's important in life to keep a sense of balance.

thanks for all the links
Your blog spot is cute. It must have taken a lot of time.
Rants about out of context segments of his speeches. Lots
of indignation and vitriol but little support for the criticisms.
thanks but, no thanks, I hate commercial interruptions.

But hey I got this link out of your blog spot with a search engine and retrieved the original speech!

mmmm

by Scottie Sunday, Oct. 12, 2003 at 10:59 PM

sheepo.. thats just the first thing that I found at random. the point is there are THOUSANDS of sites like that.

anyway
from that one i note

>In countries like ours, its condemnation, the loss of job opportunities

- noam obviously doesnt have a problem with this. it seems that talking out about zionism is a perfectly valid profession far from somthing one has to be brave to do.

>There are obviously much bigger problems - like why do we continue to participate in massive atrocities, repression, terror - but we don't do anything about it? But there's no literary genre on that.

- yes there is... it's you NOAM You and half the books in any book store. Just like michael moore complaining about how its impossible to become rich like him.

>You find occasional instances of anti-Semitism, but they are marginal

well if "anti sematism means being against semites then he is arguing against himself here.
If it means being against jews then he obviously hasnt been paying attention to levels of hate crimes by race. Of course there arent all that many jews

If Chomski is going to take a reference from Eban in the manner in which he has he should provide a quote like this one ..... Israeli statesman Abba Eban noted that "the Palestinians never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity."

Noam then has alot of quotes from people who he doesnt say who they are.

> The information came back from the IDF (the Israeli army) that "in the first few days of the Intifada [Sept 30th 2000 and the next few days] the IDF fired a million
bullets."

OK A) a respected corespondant but he doesnt name them?
B) one million bullets? that is either incredible luck or just a totally flipppant comment
C) one million bullets and they missed almost one million times? damn they must be being careful.

> Britain very quickly understood that use of air power to attack civilians was far more cost effective and murderous than using ground forces.

The first part is probably true the second part is a bald faced lie. How many people would have died if The US had fought Iraq with no air support and it had taken 5 months (lets say since I have no idea how long it would have taken) to fight all the way across iraq.

> The US is one of the most fundamentalist cultures in the world

Noam has lost touch with what fundimentalism is

hmmm

by Scottie Monday, Oct. 13, 2003 at 9:41 AM

Id like to have some one on about this one

>"Market distortions by the rich have been a major factor in doubling the already huge gap between the poorest and richest countries in the past generation."

Sounds bad eh?
however A) US share (and the share of other high income countries around 1960's) of GDP is going down therefore average difference between poor countries and the Top countries is going down whether or not a few countries are missing out.
B) technology and medicine brings these things together anyway.
C) there are less market distortions now than there were then.

And looks llike you have a judas in your ranks....

>The 1992 UN Development Report estimates that various protectionist and financial measures taken by the rich countries have deprived the South of $1/2 trillion a year

protestors.. he is arguing FOR globalization. and he calls you "virtually criminal".
Fortunatly the global capitalist eletes are on his side too.. well around 80 odd percent of them. They dont like your subsidies in the US either.

by Sheepdog Monday, Oct. 13, 2003 at 2:09 PM

so now you are babbling about degrees of deprivation 'coming together anyway'.
And you say he is for the economic globalization your side keeps beating as the end all to world problems.
Apparently you really haven't read much unedited Chomsky.
You arguments are tired as is your false analysis.
Try reading his stuff without the peanut gallery..

Sick little Fucks!!!!

by NoOneToYOu Monday, Nov. 10, 2003 at 4:01 PM

Do You have any idea, what war is? Of course not you pretty little mama's boys. You are Americans ( I presume ) and it shows simply in your criticism for Chumsky. Do you realize that the facts he talks about are real? Not to you off course, you have never seen blood form your friends (children btw) before your doors from wound coused by a grenade. A grenade which is only one of many thousands fired on civilians in recent war in Yugoslavia. This war, among many in the Past and in the future that will happend, was caused by the very facts Chumsky has intelignetly recognuzed. To prove he was right. Just ask yourself which movie recently released in hollywood could satisfy a person with an I.Q. above 10 ? I think this is called something like making the mass dumb. It has become obvious to me just looking at what is happening to education in my country, we are constantly becoming short of new knowledge and inteligent things to learn. They started making the kids dumber and dumber in school, teaching them it's o.k. and positive to spšedn the whole day away from your parents ins chool learning something someone sad you should learn, waste all of your time trying to prove to that individual that you did learn it.

You americans mostly make me sick. Lucky there are Chumsky's in the world. Thank U, 'cause your stupid comments make more and more of them each day!

Someone, Croatia.

May God forgive you

by Croat Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003 at 12:24 PM

I will only say this, everyone who had benefit from Hitler admired him. Everyone who has benefit from Bush, likes him. But I cannot admire a ruthless executioner, and a war criminal, who doesn't let people get food and medication, because, they could survive uin too high a precentage, and eventually perhaps get the courage to take back their lives and country into their own hands. BTW if you were serious about dealing with the terorists, are you aware that G.Bush senior has been and still is a financial advisor for the Bin Laden family? And that it is purely logical that you, and only you americans don't see, that Bush himself gave the order that the 11.9. happens. Believe it or not, but be aware that the whole world is sick of americans, of america, and that all your hands are bloody, because, while you're all getting fat, destroying the last bit of decency and culture there is left over there, for every thrown cent on your cakes and tv - shows, somebody died. That's about a realistic view of relations. Did you ever ask yourself how many poeple had to die, for you to have the clothes you have, the magazines you jerk off with, the car you are driving?
And one life would be too many. The world laughs at your despickable anti intelligence, because your nation is becoming more stupid every day, and fears not to show it. Honestly I pitty you, for you have not the courigge and decency to open your eyes, because the things that are hidden are too big and too many too bare. May God forgive U
