Bilderberg Black Out

To witness the annual Bilderberg conference is to realize how the “Lords of the New World Order”—the self-chosen elite of international finance, business, and politics—are allowed to assemble in secret and conspire with the connivance of the mainstream media.

Exclusive to American Free Press

By Christopher Bollyn

Given the tumultuous events in the Middle East and the serious strains in U.S.-French relations, one would expect that an event near Paris, in which scores of key U.S. and European officials meet with the heads of international finance and business, would attract considerable media attention. However, while Bilderberg 2003 at the historic Trianon Palace at Versailles was an extraordinary gathering of the global elite, it passed with scarcely a word in the controlled press.

In the historic Trianon Palace Hotel, where the Versailles treaty was handed to the defeated Germans after World War I, the individuals who head the world’s largest oil companies and financial institutions convened during four days, in total seclusion, with selected political leaders and media owners.

Because of the near total blackout of Bilderberg in the mass media, knowledge of what was going on in the Trianon from May 15-18 was limited to those who read James Tucker’s articles in American Free Press.

The Trianon Palace is a luxury hotel immediately adjacent to the magnificent grounds of the palace of Versailles. The entry to the hotel sits near the Grille de la Reine, a gated entry to the royal park built by the 17th century French monarchs, King Louis XIII and his son Louis XIV.

Some of the well-to-do residents of the neighborhood of the Trianon, unaware of what was occurring in the hotel, were shocked to discover that their cars had been towed away early on Thursday, May 16, as Bilderberg security had demanded.

By mid-day the street leading to the hotel had been completely cleared and a security cordon set around the entire neighborhood. Local residents who lived within the security perimeter were obliged to identify themselves to Bilderberg security and armed national police at the checkpoint at the end of the Boulevard de la Reine.

‘LIKE FORT KNOX’

The hotel property was thoroughly checked for mines and every vehicle was carefully examined for explosives at a second checkpoint before being allowed to come near the hotel. Bomb sniffing dogs scoured the neighborhood.

“It’s like Fort Knox,” said Christian Ebel, the local resident whose silver Porsche had been taken away on the back of a truck the day before. Ebel said he had never seen such security measures before in France.

The people of Versailles were noticeably puzzled and upset by the security measures that prevented them from entering the park at the Grille de la Reine to which they are accustomed. Security personnel, unable to explain the reason for such intense security, failed to answer the question everyone asked: “Why can’t we go to the park?”

Standing by the security checkpoint hoping to catch the Bilderberg arrivals on film, I was able to explain to the bewildered locals what was happening in the Trianon and how they could enter the park by using the Grille du Dragon at the end of the nearby side street.

On several occasions, particularly when I was alone, officers of the CRS ordered me to stop taking photos although I presented my international press card when asked and remained on public property. When I asked by what law I was being ordered, one CRS officer said: “I don’t know by what law. I have my instructions to tell you to go away.”

Early on Friday morning, I helped a large group of school children held up at the checkpoint to get into the park.

Later in the afternoon, the group returned and I gave a short lecture about Bilderberg to a few dozen interested 10-year-olds as Bilderberg security and the French CRS riot police stood behind me.

One resident of Versailles who was aware of the power and influence of Bilderberg told me that the French press had neglected to report what was occurring at the Trianon.

“There has not been one word in any French paper about Bilderberg and there won’t be tomorrow or the next day,” he said. “The French press is not as free as the press in your country.”

Another resident told me he had seen the president of France’s national assembly, Jean Louis Debré, while jogging in the park.

While the mainstream U.S. and British press are unlikely to discuss Bilderberg in any detail, the fact that the conference was occurring in Versailles was reported on the British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) news web site in a short piece titled “Elite power brokers’ secret talks” by Emma Jane Kirby on May 15.

In January, during the World Economic Forum inDavos, Switzerland, American Free Press had asked John Simpson and others from the BBC why the government-owned network reported extensively on the Davos event yet completely ignored Bilderberg.

Bilderberg “delegates” at the “closed meeting” of the “world’s financial and political elite” were “expected to be focusing their attention on post-war Iraq,” Kirby wrote for the BBC.

With Iraqi oil high on the agenda there was no surprise in seeing Peter Sutherland, chairman of British Petroleum, attending David Rockefeller’s Bilderberg conference along with Queen Beatrix of Holland and Queen Sophia of Spain. Photographs of the limousines with darkened windows indicate that King Juan Carlos of Spain also attended.

“By anyone’s standards, it is a bit of a mystery,” the BBC’s Kirby wrote about Bilderberg. With its meetings “cloaked in secrecy” it is unclear what Bilderberg actually does, she wrote, adding that it is “an extremely influential lobbying group with a good deal of political clout on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Two journalists from BBC radio, Simon Cox and Richard Vadon, interviewed Tucker during his daily 5 p.m. press conference at a nearby hotel. The “Club Class” program on Bilderberg is scheduled for July 3 on Radio 4 in Britain.

Two Turkish reporters also covered Bilderberg 2003, as did a couple from Norway’s leading business daily, Dagens Næringsliv.

Tony Gosling of Britain, who publishes the web site Bilderberg.org filmed the arrival of conference attendees and their Saturday afternoon excursion to the Chateau of Versailles. It was during this excursion, when some 70 Bilderberg participants rode a tourist train from the hotel to the chateau, that I was able to photograph the attendees and meet David Rockefeller in the park with his bodyguard.

During the Bilderberg conference, two of Turkey’slargest newspapers, Hurriyet and Zaman, reported that, despite Muslim opposition, Turkey’s Treasury Minister Ali Babacan was attending with a handful of state bureaucrats.

Zaman wrote: “ ‘This, the first serious en counter between the new Justice and Development Party (AKP) government and the “Lords of the New World Order,” which have been following Turkey closely for years, is truly significant,’ says researcher Aytunc Altindal.

“ ‘Some demands will be made of the AKP there,” Altindal said. ‘If they satisfy the demands, they will feel free in foreign and internal politics, otherwise they will find themselves in a very tough situation indeed.’ ”

The Norwegian journalists were interested in two key Norwegians who were attending: the head of Nor way’s state bank and the chairman of Norway’s largest energy and chemical company, Norsk Hydro.

A comprehensive article on Bilderberg is due to be published in Dagens Næringsliv a week after the conference.

Apart from a few local college students, no other journalists or photographers were seen covering the Bilderberg confab in Versailles.

In a May 16 article on WorldNetDaily.com titled “World government in action,” Joseph Farah asked: “Do you believe there are powerful people who conspire together annually to solidify their grip on world domination? Do you believe all of this happens in secret, with the quiet complicity of the world media?”

“There really are conspiracies at work. There really are powerful people plotting world domination,” Farah wrote about the Bilderberg gathering in Versailles.

“And they really operate in near-total secrecy as the world press sits on its collective duff.”

On May 20, American Free Press asked David Oakley, news editor at London’s Financial Times, why Britain’s leading business daily did not cover the Bilderberg conference, while others did.

“We are very, very busy,” Oakley said. “We would write about it, even put it on the front page,” he said, “if we could find out what they are talking about.” To write about it otherwise, Oakley said, “does not move the news agenda along.”

On May 21, Financial Times published a feature article mentioning Bilderberg by Martin Wolf.

WALL STREET JOURNAL

But the Wall Street Journal, which is always represented by Paul Gigot, editorial page editor, is standing fast to its pledge of secrecy.

AFP called Gigot at WSJ’s New York office. He was “unavailable” said his secretary, identified only as “Marianne.”

She sounded surprised by the question but acknowledged that Gigot was at the Bilderberg meeting in Versailles.

Why does WSJ never report on Bilderberg?

“He’s a participant, not a reporter,” she said. “Participants don’t report on this.”

“But it is a major story being ignored,” AFP said.

“Why is it a story?” she challenged.

“When you have 120 world leaders in international finance, political leaders, including heads of state and high officials of the U.S. government, how can that not be a story?” AFP asked.

A pause followed, then AFP added:

“Bilderberg meetings are sealed off, reporters are not allowed in.”

“That’s their problem.”

“And Mr. Gigot will report nothing?”

“I told you, he is a participant and participants don’t report on these meetings.”

In fact, “participants” are ordered to give no interviews and report nothing on what transpires.

“When your paper, The Washington Post and all three major networks participate and promise to not report, is this not a conspiracy?”

“I told you, you have to ask them,” she said, terminating the conversation.

by Eric Wednesday, May. 28, 2003 at 3:23 AM

These are the people that are keeping the metric system down in America.

They're the reason we're not driving electric cars.

They're the one's that put the holes in doughnuts.

Because of them, the glass is half empty.

If it weren't for these guys, we'd all know that the Alien bodies are really kept in "Area 52".

String theory wouldn't just be "a theory" if not for these folks.

It's because of these guys that we can't feed the mayonaise directly to the tuna fish.

Just a quetion, but

by Diogenes Wednesday, May. 28, 2003 at 5:52 AM

...if they are so innocuous then WHY will the mainstream presstitutes not report on them AT ALL?

There is a lot of money power and political power in the attendees to these "Bilderberg" meetings.

To pretend that these people do not have an inordinate say so in the affairs of our troubled world is avoid reality.

In all times and places and in all major cultures we can find at play the hand of those who operate in the shadows to their benefit and often contrary to the interests of the rest of us. To pretend otherwise is to ignore history.

"WHY will the mainstream presstitutes not report on them AT ALL?"

by Eric Wednesday, May. 28, 2003 at 6:21 AM

Quite possibly because there is nothing noteworthy to report on, less goofy conspiracy theories.

A more pertinent question would be:

Why haven't any of the alternative news outlets (such as IMC) crashed one of their parties, or performed a little better investigative reporting, and provided us with the scoop?

I suspect the answer to this question is much the same as the one to the first.

Actually a few things...

by Diogenes Wednesday, May. 28, 2003 at 7:39 AM

...have leaked out from time to time. For example Henry Kissinger's comment that under the right scenario American's would beg for troops to come into our cities to restore order.

However, you are talking about some of the tightest security possible at these meetings.

Even residents in the areas where these meetings are held have difficulty getting in and out of their homes.

Do a little reasearch. There has been a fair bit written on these "little" meetings, but you will not find any mention of it by the Mainstream Presstitutes.

Does that mean the meetings don't take place? No. They are well documented.

Does that mean they are not attended by our self-styled elites? No. That is well documented too. You just have to be curious and start asking Why?

As long as you insist on living in a sheltered World View constructed for you by the Propagandists of the so-called "Mainstream Press". That is the way it is intended. If you think otherwise you have not looked into the issue and honestly gone through the data. It is as simple as that. I cannot force anyone to think. I cannot force you to look and ask questions. And you cannot refute this post.

Going apopapleptic...

by Diogenes Wednesday, May. 28, 2003 at 7:59 AM

...proves nothing. Always it is what does that data say not "what would I like to believe"?

The simple fact that the mainstream presstitutes will not cover this meeting AT ALL, given the stature of the attendees, is a significant datum.

The mainstream presstitutes routinely cover conferences consisting of people with much less power and influence than this group.

To say the meeting is not significant is a cognitive dissonance.

by Eric Wednesday, May. 28, 2003 at 8:08 AM

These meetings have been going on for more than 50 years and no one has done anything to stop them or infiltrate them or separate the fact from the fiction?

I did a search on Amazon.com and found more reading material about Area 51 than I did on the Bilderbergers. Both are of equal concern to me...

Bush Admirer, Simon, Fresca, daveman, and brigg are invited to attend. The agenda will be global domination and which countries the USA will take over next. Also, we will be brainstorming which additional Democratic candidates we will allow to run for President in 2004. All nominees must be as least as ridiculous as Al Sharpton. Bring your notepads and take lots of notes. There might be a quiz.

Lastly, daveman will be giving a seminar on how to make excellent bar-b-que briskets. Lemonade and cookies will be served upon adjournment.

Some More Background

Bilderbergers are conspiring to establish a 'new world order'.

The conspiracy theory writers have repeatedly linked one powerful global elite, the Bilderberg Group, with the ultimate take-over of the world. Members of the Bilderberg together with their 'sister' organisations-the Trilateral Commission (known also as the "Child of Bilderberg")(1) and the Council on Foreign Relations(2)-are charged with the post-war take-over of the democratic process. The measures implemented by this group so far prove the control of the world economy through indirect political means.

The constitution of several democratic monarchies of the Western Europe bans members of their royal families from playing an active role in the political process. However, the Bilderberg meetings provide this exact forum and platform for them.
"This unprecedented period of European cooperation is more than a product of simple nation-state diplomacy. One of the key institutions that has fostered unity and cooperation with the Atlantic Community beyond the old concepts has been the Bilderberg Group."(3)
"I tell you frankly that I am deeply alarmed today over the possibility that a right-wing reaction may draw some sections of capital so far away from our traditions as to imperil the entire structure of American life as we know it."(4)

These comments by Pasymowski and Gilbert(3) two decades ago may seem out of phase with the current events in former Yugoslavia, but, in terms of the continued stability of the "European State", they have proven to be largely accurate. Warfare has been removed from the intra-European systems as a means of controlling and directing nationalistic goals and ideas. Even in the case of former Yugoslavia, one observes that the current state of war has resulted from Tito's and the Soviet Union's demise. Consequently, the lid has been lifted on rivals and racial memories which had been artificially kept in place for previous decades. The several proto-states which make up the former Yugoslavia were not part of the economic and social development programs which evolved in Western Europe. As we would see, the way in which the rest of Europe evolved and developed was very different, and for very particular reasons.

Whether co-incidence or not, it is equally ironic that the current Chairman of the Bilderberg, Lord Carrington, was the first UN-appointed representative to bring peace to the war-torn Yugoslavia.

ORIGINS
The single most important personality connected with the birth and creation of the Bilderberg Group is Joseph H. Retinger (also known as L'Eminence-His Grey Eminence). Retinger had a colourful, lifelong career that raised him to the top of the world power élites. At his funeral in 1960, Sir Edward Bedington-Behrens said:
"I remember Retinger in the United States picking up the telephone and immediately making an appointment with the President, and in Europe he had complete entrée in every political circle as a kind of right acquired through trust, devotion and loyalty he inspired."

Retinger, as a Catholic, was viewed by many as an agent of the Vatican, acting in liaison between the Pope and the Father-General of the Jesuit order.

One of Retinger's renowned achievements in European politics was the founding of the European Movement, leading to the establishment of the Council of Europe on 5th May 1949. With its headquarters in Strasbourg, the Council Executive Committee provided Retinger his first major platform for his expansive ideology. From his earlier days at the Sorbonne, Retinger believed in greater European unity, both in military and economic terms. It was also at the same time when his interest in the guidance of the Jesuit order manifested itself. He spent a great deal of his time fulfilling these ambitions. He suggested to Premier Georges Clemenceau a plan to unite Eastern Europe-involving the merging of Austria, Hungary and Poland as a tripartite monarchy under the guidance of the Jesuit order. Clemenceau, doubtful of the Vatican-inspired plan, rejected Retinger's proposal outright. This plan labelled Retinger, thereafter, as a Vatican agent.

Retinger's activities were not limited to uniting Europe. Through his several trips to Mexico he played a key role in the creation of a trade union movement in the 1920s. Due to his unprecedented success, and by gaining the Mexican Government's trust, Retinger convinced them to nationalise the US oil interest in Mexico. In the process, Retinger conducted the secret negotiations with Washington for the Mexican Government.

Retinger also had an active war career. He was the political aide to General Sikorski, and served for the London-based Polish Government-in-exile. In addition, at the age of 58, he parachuted into German-occupied territory outside Warsaw for some sabotage missions.

Due to his high-profile career, in the 1950s he was able to create contacts with numerous high-ranking military officials and political leaders. His main aim was to unite the world in peace. His peace dividend was to be under the control of supernational, powerful organisations. He believed that such organisations would be immune from short-term ideological conflicts erupting between governments. To Retinger, it was insignificant what dominated the economic ideology of a country. He believed these differences could be brought into line by powerful multinational organisations dictating and applying powerful economic and military policies, thereby creating a union and a bond between the nations.

Retinger's personal 'left-wing' views from his heady days convinced him that many leaders of newly born socialist and communist nations would be prepared to talk to him. Additionally, his Church background gave him an arena for dialogue with people from the middle-ground connections in international relations.

Nevertheless, Retinger knew that control of the world affairs cannot be achieved without US participation. In pursuit of this ideology, he began a campaign for the creation of an Atlantic Community. This would make the development of Europe an important political aim for the American politicians, thereby preventing their retreat into political isolation.

Retinger, with this in mind, set out his carefully calculated move by involving one of his close and powerful friends, Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. Prince Bernhard, at the time, was an important figure in the oil industry and held a major position in Royal Dutch Petroleum (Shell Oil), as well as Société Générale de Belgique-a powerful global corporation.

In 1952 Retinger approached Bernhard with a proposal for a secret conference to involve the NATO leaders in an open and frank discussion on international affairs behind closed doors. The meeting would allow each participant to speak his mind freely because no media representative would be permitted inside; nor would there be any news bulletin about the meeting or the topics discussed. Furthermore, if any leaks occurred, the journalists would be discouraged from writing about it.

Prince Bernhard fully supported Retinger's proposal for an international meeting. Consequently, they formed a committee to organise a plan. In 1952, Bernhard approached the Truman administration and briefed them about the meeting. Despite a positive reception, it was not until the Eisenhower administration when the first American counterpart group was formed. The two key role-players in the US group were General Walter Bedell Smith (Director of the CIA) and C. D. Jackson. Both (European-American) groups working interactively set out to fulfil Retinger's initial plan. From the outset, the American group was heavily influenced by the Rockefeller family, the owners of Standard Oil-competitors of Bernhard's Royal Dutch Petroleum. From then on, the Bilderberg business reflected the concerns of the oil industry in its meetings.

According to Bilderberg's draft document of 1989:
"Bilderberg takes its name from the Bilderberg Hotel in Oosterbeek, Holland, where the first meeting took place in May 1954. That pioneering meeting grew out of the concern expressed by many leading citizens on both sides of the Atlantic that Western Europe and North America were not working together as closely as they should on matters of critical importance. It was felt that regular, off-the-record discussions would help create a better understanding of the complex forces and major trends affecting Western nations in the difficult post-war period."(5)

Retinger's main aim in creating Bilderberg had other more important, inherent aspects than an informal gathering of a group of the world's élite. It has been suggested that Bilderberg meetings ultimately would have implemented group dynamics techniques in the shape of a low- key international thinking group with the purpose of sensitising the less enlightened of its membership towards the new transitional diplomacy of the Cold War.

The first meeting witnessed the gathering of ideologies, poles apart. The issue of McCarthyism was reaching its peak in the United States. European participants, exasperated with the McCarthy propaganda, saw in their American counterparts a clear political shift towards an ultra-right-wing fascist state. Memories of WorldWar II still fresh in their minds, the Europeans found the concept rather repulsive.

C. D. Jackson (a member of the CFR), in an attempt to regain the international delegates' confidence, stated:
"Whether McCarthy dies by an assassin's bullet or is eliminated in the normal American way of getting rid of boils on body politics, I prophesy that by the time we hold our next meeting he will be gone from the American scene."(6)

Nevertheless, McCarthyism proved to be a source of embarrassment for the US delegate.

OTHER GROUPS
The concept of Bilderberg was not new. Although similar groups were already in existence at the time, none attracted and provoked global myths the way Bilderberg has.

Groups such as Bohemian Grove, established in 1872 by San Franciscans, played an equally significant role in shaping post-war politics in the US.
"It was at the Grove, it is said, that the Manhattan Project was set up and that Eisenhower was selected as the Republicans' candidate for 1952."(7)

The Ditchley Park Foundation was established in 1953 in Britain with the same aim.(8)

Two years earlier, in 1952, Britain's Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery had suggested the idea of a NATO command-post exercise (a paper drill; no movement of forces) to train army divisional commanders. General Eisenhower, who was then NATO's European Commander, accepted it. As a result, the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers in Europe Exercise-SHAPEX-was created. Ever since, an annual meeting has been held in SHAPE headquarters near Mons, Belgium, and the subject has been broadened to incorporate a wide array of topics.

The historical review of these groups reflects a sudden flourishing trend, and the realisation by the world's leaders of the need for creation of, at times, such overt concepts. The idea of establishing such élite groups did not die with the birth of Bilderberg.

In 1957, the first of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs took place.9 Pandit Nehru offered to host the first meeting. The founder members were personalities such as Bertrand Russell and Albert Einstein. Scientists from the United States and Soviet Union were regular participants in this East-West gathering of élites. Britain is known for its active participation and role in this group.
"The best feature of Pugwash is that it brings together people from East, West and non-aligned countries."(9)

Pugwash proved particularly valuable at the time when the relation between East and West was at a stalemate. Many significant topics were discussed in this forum. Ways of monitoring arms control agreements, nuclear disarmament, and reduction of East-West tensions were always on the top of the agenda. In the 1970s Pugwash embraced a range of issues including biological, chemical and conventional arms control, environment and development problems as well as conflicts around the world.

One of the latest groups is the Williamsburg, better known as the Asian Window. Its first meeting was financed by the late John D. Rockefeller in 1971, and continues to date. It brings together the Asian leaders and the Americans. Williamsburg has been particularly effective for discussing Vietnam, or the Indonesian corruption, or supposedly non-existent Japanese exchange controls. Different experiences of trade with China and Russia, or how Singapore has a lower infant mortality than America, have been some of the topics in the Williamsburg forum.

Nonetheless, none of these groups-including the Council on Foreign Relations and the Trilaterals-commands the influence the Bilderberg has obtained in shaping and dictating global policies.

CHAIRMAN
"The first [Bilderberg] meeting was convened under the chairmanship of H. R. H. Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, who served as chairman for twenty-two years. He was succeeded by Lord Home of the Hirsel, former Prime Minister for the United Kingdom, who chaired the meetings for four years. At the 1980 meeting, Lord Home turned over the chairmanship to Walter Scheel, former President of the Federal Republic of Germany. In 1985, Mr Scheel resigned, and was succeeded by Lord Roll of Ipsden, President of S. G. Warburg Group plc. At 1989 meeting, Lord Roll turned over the chairmanship to Lord Carrington,"(10) who still chairs the meetings.

CHARACTER OF BILDERBERG MEETINGS
"What is unique about Bilderberg as a forum is (1) the broad cross-section of leading citizens, in and out of government, that are assembled for nearly three days of informal discussion about topics of current concern especially in the fields of foreign affairs and the international economy; (2) the strong feeling among participants that, in view of the differing attitudes and experiences of the Western nations, there is a clear need to develop an understanding in which these concerns can be accommodated; and (3) the privacy of these meetings, which has no purpose other than to allow leading citizens to speak their minds openly and freely.

"In short, Bilderberg is a recognised, flexible and informal international leadership forum in which different viewpoints can be expressed and mutual understanding enhanced."(11)

In further recognition of this aspect, Paddy Ashdown, the Leader of the Liberal Party and a participant in the 1989 Bilderberg meeting, wrote to me:

"In view of the recent events right across Europe, this has turned out to have been an exceptionally useful opportunity to meet and discuss with many of the most expert people in the world on international relations. I found it a very stimulating and informative gathering."(12)

But others, such as Prince Charles, Lord Callaghan and Sir Edward Heath, were rather shy in their responses.(13)

PARTICIPANTS
There are usually 115 participants in each annual meeting. Eighty are from Western Europe and the remainder from North America. From this mixture, one-third are from government and politics, and the remaining two-thirds from industry, finance, education and communications. All the participants claim to attend the meeting in their private capacity and not as officials-though this claim, in the wake of the outcome of subsequent meetings, has proven to be highly questionable.

Participants are invited to the Bilderberg meeting by the Chairman, following his consultations and recommendations by the Steering Committee membership, the Advisory Group and the Honorary Secretaries-General. This approach ensures a full, informed and balanced discussion of the agenda items. The individuals are chosen based on their knowledge, standing and experience. The previous participants maintain that, at the meetings, no resolutions are proposed, no votes are taken and no policy statements are made.

FUNDING
The costs of the annual meetings are usually the responsibility of the Steering Committee members of the host country. But, the expenses of maintaining the Bilderberg meetings are covered entirely by private subscriptions. Although the meeting reports are published, nevertheless they are strictly for the participating members only. No reports are made available to the media.

Though the entire topics of the Bilderberg meetings since its establishment are known to me, listing these topics would occupy several pages, which is not within the scope of this writing. However, I should perhaps include herewith the topics of the first meeting (1954) and the 1992 meeting which, in themselves, provide an insight into the evolution of this group, the Bilderberg.

29-31 May 1954: Oosterbeek, Netherlands A. The attitude towards communism and the Soviet Union.
B. The attitude towards dependent areas and people overseas.
C. The attitude towards economic policies and problems.
D. The attitude towards European integration and the European Defence Community.

21-24 May 1992: Evian-les-Bains, France A. Prospects for the former Soviet republics.
B. What should be done for Eastern Europe?
C. Whither the United States?
D. The world economy.
E. Whither Europe?
F. Soviet Union: the view from Moscow.
G. The migration issue.
H. The evolving west/west relationship.

Footnotes:
1. The issue concerning the history and the activities of the Trilateral Commission is a separate one to be dealt with in another paper.
2. The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) requires separate attention which I would discuss in another paper. However, I should add that the CFR does not accept non-US members.
3. Pasymowski, Eugene and Carl Gilbert, Bilderberg: The Cold War Internationale, 1971.
4. Charles E. Wilson, addressing the National Association of Manufacturers in 1946.
5. Extract from a Bilderberg document. This document was given to the author, prior to its official publication, by one of the members of the Bilderberg Group. Later on, an official format was also provided to the author by another member, which proved the authenticity of the record in point.
6. Hatch, Alden, H. R. H. Bernhard, Prince of the Netherlands, 1962.
7. "Our Good Conference Guide", The Economist, December 1987.
8. The issue concerning the Ditchley Foundation requires a separate paper. For many years I have been studying this Foundation and have had the opportunity of discussing its achievements, goals and missions with several of its members and invited participants.
9. Op. cit., 7.
10. Bilderberg Meetings, 1989, p. 1 (Bilderberg record).
11. Op. cit. 5, p. 1.
12. Letter from Paddy Ashdown, Leader of the Liberal Party, dated 3 January 1990, to the author.
13. Former Prime Minister Lord Callaghan's letter of 19 October 1989, to the author. Former Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath's letter of 1 November 1989, to the author. Letter of 30 October 1989 from St James's Palace, to the author. Prince Charles participated in the 1986 Bilderberg annual meeting held in Scotland.

Gentlemen:

by daveman Friday, May. 30, 2003 at 1:17 AM

The plans for world dominion are proceeding in accordance with the prophesies.

Phase 2, the selection to the Presidency of Brother George W. Bush, was accomplished quite handily with only minor whining from the Left. Pay it no heed. His efforts to gain control over the Middle East, and then turn it over to the multicorps, are exactly on schedule.

Phase 3 is set to begin soon. Baskin Robins, empowered by the FCC's deregulation efforts, will purchase all major media outlets in the US, and then reveal its new ad campaign: THIRTY-WONDERFUL FLAVOrS -- BOW DOWN BEFORE THEM! This message will be repeated overtly and subliminally throughout all news and entertainment formats, forcing Americans to consume more and more ice cream until obesity among the populace reaches alarming levels. At this point, we will cause to be elected a Democratic President and Congress in 2008. This Left Wing government will immediately socialize medicine and bankrupt the country attempting to take care of all obesity-related illness. The government will collapse, and then we will step in. The United States will be available to the highest bidder.

Phase 4 may then begin. Details on this will be provided later.

Gentlemen, it's a pleasure taking control of the world with you. Eric, I do make a good barbecue. I make my own sauce, even The secret is using white pepper.
Fresca, don't worry about your pay. We'll all be getting Baskin Robins stock options right before Phase 3. And keep on trying to keep the unwashed masses ignorant of the 9/11--crop circle connection. If anyone finds that out, it could spell doom. Continue to mercilessly ridicule anyone capable of making the connection...such as most of the regulars on la-imc.

BWA-HA HA HA HA ha ha ha!

You can laugh all you wish...

by Diogenes Friday, May. 30, 2003 at 7:17 AM

...but history is replete with Cabals, Coteries, Plots, Murders and Conquests.

It was from the Byzantine Empire that we get the phrase: "The Walls have ears."

Cardinal Richlieu and Nicolai Rasputin were real and did exist, and yes Nicolo Machiavelli did write a little number called "The Prince".

This is nothing new.

To believe that our age has excaped such machinations is to live a shallow sheltered existence in a fantasy world that never was and is not now. I have a preferred name for those who live in the Never Never Land of "It can't happen here": "Invincible Ignorance".

You may laugh from ignorance, or perhaps it is the feighned laughter of the paid Toady. Whatever, the World is as it is not as we would have it be.

and Judas and Cassius and all the others in the mouths of Dante's Satan, punished for betraying their masters.

Thought about it.

Not buying it.

But I like the idea of Baskin Robins as an instrument of doom. Very creative.

"Cocytus"

by Eric Friday, May. 30, 2003 at 7:38 AM

Diogenes and Virgil are now in the ninth and final circle of Hell, Cocytus -- the frozen marsh where the Arch Traitor himself, is forever immersed up to his breastbone. His giant wings flap uselessly as he attempts to free himself, producing nothing more than cold winds that freeze the ice even harder.

Diogenes writes "If he was once as beautiful as he is ugly now, well may all affliction come from him".

Satan has three faces: one black, one red, one yellow, with mouths gushing bloody foam and six eyes weeping. While he weeps, he relentlessly chews the bodies of three traitors -- Judas, Brutus, and Cassius -- whose terrible crimes were still less heinous than his own -- for Lucifer betrayed the greatest Lord of all.

So now he suffers here, in the cold and dark at the farthest possible removal from the source of all light and warmth.

It is from here that Diogenes and Virgil escape from Hell by climbing down Lucifer's shaggy side, for he is too distraught to notice them, and then crawling through an opening in the rocks into the clean air and starlit night.

takin over

by brigg Friday, May. 30, 2003 at 8:45 AM

At the annual Bilderberg conference, I have this image of the mega-rich sitting and petting their white cats and waiting to destroy the world, little realizing that James Bond will miraculously find a way to save the world.

BBQ sounds real good. BBQ sauce. Some baked beans and slaw. Potato salad. Cut open a watermelon. Coke on ice. Sound like a deal to me. Planning world domination with BBQ and fixings. I'm all for it.

"And when I get angry, Mr. Bigglesworth gets angry! And when Mr. Bigglesworth gets angry ...

PEOPLE DIE!!" - Dr. Evil (from Austin Powers)

No kidding, brigg. A good, old fashioned BBQ with all the trimmings sounds like a plan! We could get all the guys from IMC together and have a big party. I'd even invite Sheepdog and utterfailure. Diogenes would be the guest of honor.

You know what they say. "Keep your friends close ..." somethin' somethin'.

J'accuse!

by billboard stick-pin Friday, May. 30, 2003 at 10:50 AM

If ever there were a paid toady, it would certainly be you Diogenes. A shill the likes we've never seen, that boasts patriotism while placating the enemies of his nation. One that disgorges monolithic quantities of falsifications and out right lies for no reason other than to attempt all the political damage that those slings and arrows may effect.

You sir are now, and have always been, exactly that which we have pegged you to be.

My guess is that we'd have alot more in common then thought and we'd all probably get along fine.

But, I suppose that'll never happen.

I'm up for it.

by Eric Friday, May. 30, 2003 at 11:53 AM

Seriously. I don't think there would be any problems, other than possibly some heated political discussion.

I imagine most of the leftys would oppose this, since the rest of us are paid shills and government agents, merely trying to dupe them into conglomerating in one place at the same time so they'd be easier to round up and ship off to the concentration, *ahem*, re-education camps. But I bet the shills will be all for it.

I know that quite a few of the guys here live rather close to me, and although I can't speak for them, I'd bet they'd be up for it too...
