From the original Doublespeak
"Am I convinced that what we did in this fight was viable? I tell you from the bottom of my heart: We stopped Saddam Hussein in his WMD programs," he said, using the abbreviation for weapons of mass destruction. "Do I know where they are? I wish I did . . . but we will find them. Or not. I don't know. I'm being honest here."

Trailer is a Mobile Lab Capable of Turning Out Bioweapons, a Team Says
By JUDITH MILLER
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/05/11/international/worldspecial/11WEAP.html?pagewanted=print&position=
It's real simple. Consider the lapses in the NY Times credibility recently. Miller is the journalist
who recently claimed to have an excliusive on revelations of possible Iraqi bioweapons and
WMDs, but it turned out that all of her info was coming from military and Pentagon personnel
who basically handed her the information without any corroboration. The Times has also
been tarnished by the even more recent Blair scandal, where an African American journalist on the
staff admitted he doctored news stories under pressure from higher ups. Critics have tried
to dismiss this as merely the consequences of using "Affirmative Action" in hiring practices at the Times.
But, as a recent Counterpunch.Org article conveys, the journalist in question was not hired under
Affirmative Action, but rather because his conservative views were conducive to those who hired him
(like the ethnic tokens in Bush's cabinet).
The Times and the Post are being pushed into a war of credibility, which just goes to show how
fucked up American corporate journalism is after the embedded excesses of the invasion of Iraq.
Although the Times still has some credible journalists, many of which have been silenced, I'd put
my money on the Post. The Times is being manipulated and not admitting to it.
