Dear Radio Friend,
The latest Shortwave Report (May 9) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality 13.3MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.3MB) (29:09) It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via http://www.kzyx.org
There are several other streams that work better- http://www.freakradio.com Freak Radio Santa Cruz (96.3fm) now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am (PDST)
Also check out LavaLamp Radio (Japan)- http://www.rinku.zaq.ne.jp/bkaec205/

And the Partytown streams are great and informative- http://www.partytown.com/radio
This week's show features stories from Spanish National Radio, Radio Netherlands, Radio Deutsche Welle, the Voice Of Russia, and Radio Havana Cuba.
From Spain- A demonstration in Guatemala by ex-paramilitaries turned deadly on Tuesday. On Monday, the President of Columbia told the FARC rebels to join in Peace talks or he would do away with them. On Tuesday, 10 hostages and unknown numbers of rebels were killed when FARC rebels trying to exchange prisoners were attacked by government forces.
From Netherlands- Columbian president Uribe came under intense criticism for his approach to dealing with the FARC rebels. The WTO has granted permission for the EU to impose multi-billion dollar trade sanctions gainst the US. A British Gulf War veteran has won a legal battle for compensation for Gulf War Syndrome, the court ruling that vaccinations caused his illness. Amnesty International says that the EU should not force Afghan refugees to return home at this time.
From Germany- This Press Review covers the US plan to carve Iraq into 3 sectors controlled by the US, Britain, and Poland, which some say is an attempt to increase divisions in Europe.
From Russia- Russia says the reconstruction of Iraq must be guided by the UN and that UN weapons inspectors must finish their work before lifting sanctions. The Palestinian Prime Minister refuses to drop a demand that 4 million refugees be allowed to return to areas now called Israel.
From Cuba- The International Federation of Journalists demands that the killing of reporters be considered a war crime. Choice Point, a US company that gathered data to exclude voters in the Florida election fraud, is now working for the US government collecting data on the populations of foreign nations, especially Latin America. Then a Viewpoint on Argentina’s economic survival, despite being written off as a failure by the IMF some months ago.
All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt!
