RCP embedded in Pacifica

by anonymous Wednesday, Apr. 16, 2003 at 9:31 PM

Why is the Revolutionary Communist Party allowed to spread their rhetoric on Pacifica?

I am tired of far-left political platforms like the RCP spreading their authoritarian rhetoric on Pacifica. They change political opinions faster than the seasons change.

Bob Avakian, their Mao in the US, is still as much of a homophobe as he was in the 80's, and make no mistake about their ambitions, they want to seize state power on behalf of others and run a Maoist style dictatorship here.

Why does Pacifica tolerate this bullshit? Where are the others that challenge this? Maoists are no friends of anyone that has anti-authoritarian leanings, or for that matter, anything that challenges their rhetoric. The RCP in the US supported the butcherous Shining Path in Peru, as well as many other far-left "revolutionary" movements that would slaughter peasants that disagreed with their political strategies. For twenty years, the RCP claimed that homosexuals were a disease of capitalism that would be reformed when they took power.

Resist the RCP, the WWP, and all other authoritarian, state power hungry assholes. If you think the Patriot Act is bad, then you would hate to see what would happen if the RCP ever gained control of the state here. (but thank god, that will never happen!).

ohh yeah, hear the RCP front man every tuesday from 5-6pm on KPFK. And then listen for the weekly call in guest (Larry) refer to Bob Avakian in a disgusting reverential tone. yuk.

Pacifica Radio

by Bush Admirer Wednesday, Apr. 16, 2003 at 10:23 PM

Pacifica Radio is a national disgrace. It's like having Chairman Mao reborn and broadcasting in our major cities. Amy Goodman and her Socialism Now bullshit is the worst. The station is pathetic at best and dangerously anti-American at worst. Shutting them down would be a public service. Their information (news is what they call it) is about as reliable as Iraq's Information Minister Al Sahaf. In fact, it's hard to tell the difference.

Not all of KPFK is like that, but there does definately seem like a tendency that is against anything anti-authoritarian. There are fleeting references here and there just to keep things "balanced", i guess [i don't believe it is balanced, but whatever... for the most part KPFK has a shitload of reformism there], but i have yet to hear a diversity of viewpoints ranging towards any strain of anti-authoritarian thought. It is sorely needed, but i'm wondering whether or not its due to a lack of anti-authoritarians working there, or lack of like-minded people to start up a show that would focus specifically on the anti-authoritarian struggle. Whether people agree or not, KPFK cannot afford to NOT have voices on against all authority. No society can. All in all, the station is definately a great source of info and sometimes tight music (depending on what shows), but its lacking and that lacking needs to be corrected.

Just my two cents, and please don't feed the troll (you all know who).

Anarchist Blockheads embedded in Indymedia

by Black-Block Head Thursday, Apr. 17, 2003 at 2:18 AM

"Anonymous" whines that the RCP is "allowed to spread their rhetoric" on Pacifica.

Just as soon as "anonymous" and the circle of infantile anarchists take control of things... they'll make sure that the RCP no longer polutes the airwaves. So much for free speech.

For all of you idiots out there who support the banning of the RCP from Pacifica airwaves... you're in good company. Comrade "Bush Admirer" agrees with you. You stand exposed... slobbering the same fascist dribble and anti-commie blather as the miscreant Bush Admirer. Listen to his neo-nazi babble... "dangerously anti-American." Yes, stand in solidarity with a neo-con cretin and attack Pacifica.

Right on "anarchist" comrades. Fuck you.

FAUX UNITY?

by SansRaison Thursday, Apr. 17, 2003 at 2:31 AM

Ultimately anarchists must realize that the far-right, and far-left are enemies of the sort of society we want to push foward. We are not allying ourselves with the far-right at all. So go ahead and play the whole "faux unity" game because we've seen it used throughout history to squash our attempts at creating a free society. Just look at Spain '36, or France '68. The list goes on and on and on.

Anarchists must learn who to side with. In the end we are against all authoritarians whether it be the far-left, middle, or far-right.

I, for one won't fall into this pitfall of a "faux unity."

Hey Block Head

by Bush Admirer Thursday, Apr. 17, 2003 at 9:33 AM

I must commend you on an excellent choice of handles. "Block Head" seems especially appropriate.

The problem with Pacifica Radio is not with their political orientation but with their chronic dishonesty. In that regard, they are much like the Iraqi Minister of Information, Al Sahaf.

There is a constant stream of dishonest blather coming out of Pacifica.

They are outrageous. This is the station that put cop killer Wesley Cook on the air.

they did put wes cook, Mumia, on the Air, just another reason they should be supported. Sectarianism, squashing opinion, etc, what future do you look forward to?

A new trial and he would be like Mandella.

Got my vote now. A public trial.

oh well, you can always dream.

Fist we would have to disassemble and reform with public

watch groups the FBI, CIA, Philadelphia police and all the

other corrupt armed goons.

Then there are the judges with blood on their hands as they

play god while jerking themselves off under their robe, the

racist scum.

Why do we need this system of justice by pay. It really sucks.

Response to "Black-Block Head"

by anonymous Friday, Apr. 18, 2003 at 4:42 PM

Mr Mao/RCP/"Black-Block Head" again refuses to address the critiques that the RCP supports dictatorial leaders and "revolutionary" terrorists such as the Shining Path, not to mention their desire to re-educate homosexuals once they get into power. Not surprising, instead, he resorts to attacking anarchists and anti-authoritarians.

For the record, indymedia is an anarchist structured network, based upon principles that would be flatly rejected by the RCP et al. So, it is quite a good thing that indymedia is inspired by anarchist thinking, otherwise if indymedia were run by the Maoists of the world, it would be equivalent to the state run media of china, which we all know cherishes freedom of speech.

And yes, thanks to the writer who pointed out the Faux Unity issue. It's not hard to find common ground with anyone that opposes dictatorial power.
