all you indy commenters are such hypocrites-- talk of peace in the world and express violent emotions against people you disagree with. can you all engage in more constructive approach with people you disagree with-- for example do you have more specific questions to ask chomsky or specific problems with his ideas. instead of ad hominem remarks on people can you guys engage in healthy debate.

and why do you assume that being in the university means being severed from the "real" world (whatever that means). chomsky has been one of the few scholars who have been so actively involved with mobalizing students in the anti-globalization movements.

stop thinking of the world in terms of the binary of theory vs. practice because the world cannot be divided in such neat categories. if as a teacher i help my students engage in a debate over the war what am -- a theorist or an activist?
