"It is necessary to build a new world. A world in which there is room
for many worlds. A world capable of containing all the worlds."
- Subcommandante Marcos

The Bush administration's "war on terrorism" is affecting us
all. There are varied interpretations of the reasons for the war. We
would like to create a forum for discussing the reasons behind the
war, and alternatives to the current US drive toward the war on
Iraq. We must say no to war, and provide an alternative for the
world. We must learn together, make each other stronger, and create an
alternative to the culture of violence and consumerism.

In the tradition of Porto Alegre, Brazil, Hyderabad, India, and
Florence, Italy, we ask that all activist groups come together for
forums and open mic sessions to find alternatives, and say that
another world is possible, if we create it.

Forums:
The Border, Racism and the War at Home
Another Middle East is Possible
Where Does the Movement Go From Here?

Workshops:
Campus activism
Open Source Software and Computer Security for activists
Anatomy of a Lockdown
Forum: Socialism vs. Anarchism
Know Your Rights, Police and Demonstrations
Forum: Alternatives to Capitalism
Direct Action, Fun and You!
The War at Home
Funding The Revolution: Getting Cash for Your Cause

To confirm your participation, if you want to lead a forum or a
workshop, or suggest someone to do so, contact Michael Cardenas at
mbc@debian.org or 619-269-4693. Feedback is appreciated.

Participating Groups: International Socialist Organization, UCSD Peace
Coalition, The Debian Project, The San Diego Coalition for Peace and
Justice, Activist San Diego, International ANSWER, La Resistencia, SD
Green Party, The Che Cafe, The Able Minded Poets, California Coalition
Against Poverty, American Friends Service Committee, La Raza Rights
Coalition, Anti-Arab Discrimination Committee, People Acting Against War, Labor's Militant Voice, City College Coalition for Peace and Justice

Help us get the word out, come down to San Diego, network, help build a stronger movement!
