Hello, Southwest Anarchists!!!

We are getting excited to host you all here in Phoenix and we have some important information that you may need in order to get here all safe and sound. First of all, please visit our website for directions to the Welcome Center, located at 810 S. Ash in Tempe, AZ. From there, you will receive a pamphlet with maps and directions to all the locations for the weekend, as well as other pertinent information about the conference.

Two proposals have been submitted for consideration for the structure and direction of the SWAN network, both of which are linked from the website. You can also find conference fliers to print out and give to all your friends.

Childcare will be provided all day on Saturday and Sunday and there will be yummy vegan food for participants throughout the weekend.

We've got four tracks of excellent workshops, with presenters from New Mexico to California, ranging in topics from the 'Militarization of the Border' to 'Queers and Genders'. A complete listing is available on the website. Our Saturday night speaker, Joel Olson, of Phoenix Copwatch and Bring the Ruckus, will be speaking on racism and white abolitionist politics. Some great

acoustic acts will perform Friday night, including Chip from Phoenix and Sonya from Tucson doing her awesome political songs. Saturday night, there will be local fire performers, spoken word and rockin' bands.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or drop us an e-mail at SWAN@phoenixanarchist.org

A few things you might want to bring:

~ A good attitude.

~ Clothes for warm weather and a sweater for cool nights.

Phoenix has an average high of 83 and low of 51 in April (desert weather), so plan accordingly. Extra toilet paper, bowl and utensils for food, a water bottle, a sleeping bag, a mat, a pillow, first aid basics, sunscreen, a hat, a pen and a notebook.

~ registration fee (no one turned away for lack of funds)

~ Some idea of what you and the anarchists from your town want from the network.

~ A willingness to take on at least one helping/work shift

If you haven't made plans to come over to Phoenix yet, please make them soon and come visit our nifty town!
