U.K. lets Jewish soldiers in Gulf erase religion from

LONDON - The British Army has allowed its Jewish soldiers involved in the war in Iraq

to erase mention of their religion on their dog-tags, fearing they would be executed if they

were captured. There are some 15 Jewish soldiers among the 45,000 British fighters

currently in action in the U.S.-led campaign.

The British Ministry of Defense made the decision following concerns expressed by

Jewish community leaders in Britain. The ministry added that kosher rations had been

provided to those Jewish soldiers who requested them.

During the 1991 Gulf War, the Iraqis would beat and parade prisoners in front of the

television cameras, and the British military fears that Jewish prisoners would come in for

a worse fate.

The British dog-tags list the soldier's name, rank, identity number and religion, with the

latter intended to facilitate proper burial in the event that the body of the soldier cannot be

brought home.

On Friday, Britain's chief rabbi, Jonathan Sacks, published a special prayer for the safety

of the soldiers in Iraq. The prayer was to be recited in all synagogues over the Sabbath.

It's fair enough under the circumstances. A bit like Americans hiding in Islamic countries after another disgraceful US episode.

What's the Jewish population of England? 15 out of 45,000 is probably a proper representation of the general public.

Jews represent .05% of the British population. Correct me if I'm wrong, but .05% of 45,000 is 225 (not 15).

For example, how many Muslims have been sent? How many Scientologists. How many Catholics?

Are we supposed to be more interested in the number of Jews than we are in other groups?

The same thing happened in the Viet Nam war, where all racial and socio-graphic and income groups were pretty equal in representation (don't give me any grief about all those black 17 year olds who died. There were only seven. It's almost impossible to get fielded at 17, due to entry requirements and training time.) The main reason is probably that Jews inclined to go to war served on what they consider the most important front, namely in Israel. That is probably true today as it was then. If other groups had a foreign front line to defend, they would probably do the same (I hope). There may be other factors, though. But I haven't had time to dig into this. Given the two images of Jews who aren't willng to serve, and Israelis who are almost all willing to serve, not much else makes sense. The rest just falls into racial or conspiratorial B.S.

POLITICALLY: No, because he must submit to the mullah, who teaches annihilation of Israel and the destruction of America, the great Satan.



DOMESTICALLY: No, because he is instructed to marry four women and beat and scourge his wife when she disobeys him. (Q.4:34)



RELIGIOUSLY: No, because no other religion is accepted by his Allah except Islam- Intolerance. (Q.2:256)



INTELLECTUALLY: No, because he cannot accept the American Constitution since it is established on Biblical principles and he believes the Bible to be corrupt.



PHILOSOPHICALLY: No, because Islam, Mohammed and the Quran do not allow freedom of religion and expression. Democracy and Islam cannot co-exist. Every Muslim government is dictatorial except Turkey.



SPIRITUALLY: No., because when we declare "one nation under God", the Christian's God is a triune God while the Muslim's is one entity called "Allah", who is never a heavenly father, nor is he ever called "Love" in the 99 excellent names.



And we think we can "reason" with them, here and throughout the world?
