DIE-IN SATURDAY, MARCH 29, 1:30PM AT PRO-WAR RALLY IN WESTWOOD

WHAT: Completely peaceful, silent, die-in. No arrests, no blocking the intersection, no making noise, no antagonizing the pro-war protestors, and no break-away marches will be part of this event.

WHEN: Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 1:30pm.

WHERE: Across the street, on the NW corner of Veteran and Wilshire, in front of the cemetary statue.

WHO: Anyone and everyone!!

WHY: A few of us (arrestees and beatees) decided that it would be a good idea to do something to counter the pro-war rally going on across the street, HOWEVER, being that it is a pro-war rally, we fully realize that the cops will be on their side and not ours, thus the decision to make it not only a peaceful (as always), but silent, demonstration. We don't want to block the street, or the sidewalk. We will leave a path open. We will simply express our views using our first amendment right to assemble. This is strategy, and we ask that everyone please respect that if you choose to die-in with us.

HOW: The pro-war rally is beginning at 1pm, we are going to show up at 1:30pm. As each individual arrives, we ask that you just simply drop silently to the ground, and remain 'dead' for at least an hour. It was suggested that people dress up as either dead Iraqi or US troops, or as civilians. Cover yourself in blood. Wear bandages, paint your face white, whatever you think works. Bring dolls dressed as dead Iraqi children. Be creative!!! It was also suggested that everyone bring a sign to lay across their chest, saying things like "I died for the Empire" or "Look at us, we're liberated!" We want the pro-war folks to SEE WHAT LIBERATED IRAQIS LOOK LIKE.

IT WILL BE HOT SO WEAR SUNSCREEN AND BRING WATER TO DRINK!

PLEASE JOIN US IN OUR ACT OF MOURNING FOR ALL OF THOSE WHO ARE DYING IN THIS USELESS, IMPERIALIST, ILLEGAL WAR. WE WILL STOP THIS WAR!!
