US marines `running out of food'

by Tricky Dick Friday, Mar. 28, 2003 at 9:55 PM

George Bush's invasion of Iraq is falling apart

From The Daily Mirror (UK)

US marines `running out of food'

01:48, Mar 28 2003

Some US Marines fighting in Iraq are reportedly running short of food and ammunition. Others have been pinned down for days trying to clear Iraqi resistance.

But US Central Command headquarters insists that everything in Operation Iraqi Freedom is going fine. "Our plan is working, and we're one day closer to achieving our objectives," Brigadier General Vincent Brooks said at a daily briefing.

Reporters in central Iraq have reported some units are running short of food, fuel and ammunition, much of which was expended battling an Iraqi army the brass and some politicians hoped would melt away.

According to some reports, a few units are issuing Marines only two Meals Ready to Eat every 36 hours -- compared to the usual three per day. At least one helicopter transport headed to An Nasiriyah to deliver supplies and fetch wounded had to turn back because of Iraqi ground fire.

An embedded reporter with the Rocky Mountain News said that Brigadier General Charles Fletcher of the 3rd Infantry Division reported up the chain of command that: "The division is out of rations."

But when the question was raised at the Central Command briefing, Brooks replied: "We feel pretty comfortable right now about the condition we're in with our logistics."

Thank You Supporters

by Saddam Saturday, Mar. 29, 2003 at 7:29 AM

Thank all you American Patriotic Supporters of my Army of Liberation and the Iraqi peoples.

As soon as the Infidels are defeated I shall severly punish the trators who take food or waters from the infidels. Raping and murdering shall be the order of the day .

Please continue to protest my attempted removal from the high office of Dictator for Life and Supreme Alla of the Iraqi peoples. I am needing as much civil disobedience as you can muster to help turn the peoples of America against the war to remove my powers.

I saddam promise I will not supply and VX, Mustard Gas or Biologicals agents to the slime ball Osama. I may gives them to HAMMAS or some other terrorists but only if theys promises not to use such of these on the American protestors.

Thank You Again my brothers and firm and reverent supporters.
Your Supreme Leader ,
Saddam

small issue

by been there Saturday, Mar. 29, 2003 at 7:37 AM

So the americans moved in a few days a distance further than from the Normandy beaches to Paris (which took severa months in 1944) and now have outrun their supply lines a bit? Big deal. How is this unusual or surprising? If there is no food next week that is a bit worrysome but this report is simply grasping at straws for an issue.

Terrible Post

by Try Again Saturday, Mar. 29, 2003 at 8:39 AM

This is really a weak, awful attempt you've made in this
post.

You're really going to have to try harder, because a
post like this just makes your argument look
ridiculous.
