Everytime you see an officer abuse someone or do something questionable, please file a complaint about the incident. By reporting incidents, the officer's personnel file is noted.
WE NEED THESE COPS' PERSONNEL FILES TO REFLECT THEIR INCORRECT BEHAVIOR!!!
Many of the same cops are seen at protests committing the same violations with reckless abandon. They are arresting people and making up all kinds of false accusations against them. In order to vigorously defend clients against lying and abusive cops, lawyers must be able to point to complaints of prior lying and abuse.
Filing multiple complaints, when we see or experience things to complain about, is one of the most effective weapons we have against the cops. God forbid any of us be the victim(s) of police brutality or false arrest and the cop who violated our rights has a spotless record!
