POLICE VIOLATE CITIZENS 4TH AMENDMENT RIGHTS

by systemfailure Tuesday, Mar. 25, 2003 at 5:19 AM

100 meters past highland blvd on hollywood blvd israelli style checkpoints are set up.

In order to supress the peaceful citizens right to free assembly and freedom of unauthorized search and seizure, the police set up "stations" on both sides of hollywood blvd to search ALL persons travelling into the "protected" zone.
This "israeli style" check point stopped and searched all persons walking down hollywood blvd,
ensuring no illegal objects passed through.

No pocketknives (violation of the 2nd amendment), no spray paint, no loudspeakers (violation of freedom of speech) including drums and guitars , and no "other illegal contraband" was allowed into the "secured" area around the academy awards to protect against "terrorism"

ALL PERSONS WERE "PATTED DOWN" AND ALL BACKPACKS AND PURSES WERE SEARCHED.
if you did not comply. then you were not allowed to pass.
The line was at least 40 persons long...

I stopped and asked the cop why our rights were being grossly violated and he responded with the typical facsist comment "I;m just following orders, I have to do what they tell me.'
I asked him if he realized that his orders directly supersceeded the rights allowed to americans via the bill of rights/ constitution and he replied "I dont have time to debate with you".

This is a sad day for democracy and for civil rights.
