On the day the war starts...

On the day the war starts...

What are the protest plans for when the war in Iraq begins? In other words, when and where...

cd's after war starts?

by eeyore Tuesday, Mar. 18, 2003 at 5:53 PM

having been at every march, vigil and protest i could find, when this war starts, i firmly believe it should NOT be business as usual. we need to block the streets, empty our workplaces--whatever it takes. i'm prepared to get arrested to protest this insanity.

are there any cd's planned when war starts?

On War Day

ICUJP among other goups are recomending that people gather at The Westwood Federal Building or Pasadena Central Park at 5 PM on the day of the attack.

Groups in other cities have plans for public strikes. This is something L.A. should join. Shutting down the city would be the most effective way of showing the White House how unpopular this war is. Or how powerful our so-called 'Focus Group' can be.

A friend says if he is driving when war is announced he will stop his car and put on the emergency lights. Driving to work this morning it almost felt like that moment, as I heard of the ridiculous midnight deadline given for a "diplomatic solution."

With such a fascist group in power, violent actions can only bring on more violence. I don't consider strategic property destruction to be violence.

But the focus I would like to see is on rolling freeway blockades. Use cones, quick-dry concrete, rubble, broken-down autos, etc. to direct traffic onto off-ramps. Do it in small affinity groups. Once one blockage is cleared, block another. Put out the word that these blockades are happening in an attempt to enforce the will of the world's people for justice without war -- peace and freedom through people power.

If you are unwilling to risk arrest, make leaflets to support the boycott of the USA -- the best form of support here is a "shopping strike." Buy only necessities. Support only non-profit, coop, and other alternative business arrangements.

At the same time, grow the networks of support that will be needed for survival in a crippled economy. Community gardens... friendship circles... service exchanges and bartering...

The time for factionalism, infighting, and arguing over the details is over. We will not achieve perfection, we will have to compromise. So when you are disgusted by someone's conservative, liberal, authoritarian, counterrevolutionary, coopted, dogmatic, brainwashed, or whatever other rhetoric, don't hate, educate!

I like that blockade idea

Yeah that would be nice. It sure we be great if we could get these nazi assholes out of power without killing 'em all. Most of em are just too damn stupid to know better.

I don't see it happening though.

Web Sites Turn Black

by Marconi Wednesday, Mar. 19, 2003 at 4:00 AM

I'm turning all my web site backgrounds back for a few days when this thing starts. This could be an amazing thing if other webmasters did it.

hmm yeah not gonna happen though

Only independant and smaller websites would think to do it and have the resources on hand to migrate the graphics accordingly without expense.

And large websites would never, ever think to oppose the system. Not US ones anyways, and its understood already that basically everyone outside of the US with the exception of Isreal and Kuwait is opposed to this war. And even those two have substantial portions of the populace against whats going on.

Nice thought but i'd keep thinking...

How can we take back the media?

Side by Side

by America's Hero Wednesday, Mar. 19, 2003 at 7:21 AM

on the day the War starts, we should ALL converge onto the Federal Building, side by side, all colors, sexes, and everyone in between, and show these Right wing bastards that we're not gonna send our sons, and daughters to fight a war, that's as meaningless as Vietnam. The only ones that will benefit from this are the Oil families, Blair, and that good for nothing Sharon. Let's shut L.A. down, I'm all for it. UNIDOS!!!!

Oh and by the way, Cpt.America is an IDIOT! (sorry to be so 5th grade, but someone had to say it.)

The protest will begin at 1500 Iraq blvd. You can start by giving a dozen roses to Sadam Hussein and telling him he is really an angel in disguise. GOOD LUCK!!

Naninanibooboo, Hussein raper, theres nothing you can do to stop the forces of good (America, did you forget?) going up against the forces of evil, Hussein. Which side are you on, neo-nazi, dictator lover?

Liberate Iraq, stupid shit. Enough people have died and are currently dying under Saddam which justifies this war, not to mention he hasnt disarmed.

Youre gonna look so stupid when we find those weapons, Hussein lover

When you say:

You in the sand with your black licking stick or are you

just sitting comfortably in your house with your thumb

up your anus?

Shit heads like you mean 'those guys' when you say "we"

you sicken me, nothing new to me. Choke on your own dick

while you give yourself a blowjob.

Have fun.
