In April/May last year, two Irish documentary filmakers were in Carcas filming a documentary profile of Hugo Chavez. It will be shown this Thursday 13th of March in LA.

Two Irish Documentary filmakers had spent months profiling chavez for a documentary for Irish National TV. Through sheer chance they were present, by Chavez's side when the right wing coup broke out in Venezuela last year.

Over the course of this documentary they show how the right wing private media in Venezuela attempted to maniuplate public perception, how oil companies, the media, and the army coluded in Chavezs downfall, and most importantly how millions of Venezuelans rose up to defend the democratical elected president and restore him to power.

I cannot emphasis how extraordinarial impressive this documentary is, the access afforded to these filmakers is total, and they show a shocking and moving story.

It is being aclaimed as the finest documentary produced in Ireland in years, and well look check it out for yourselves.

It will be shown in the Eygptian Theater on Sunset Blvd at 6:30, on the 13th of March, and director Donnacha O Brin will be present.

Seriously go see this.
