Israel’s foreign policy is the U.S.’s foreign policy

“Wag the dog” Who’s calling the foreign policy shots behind the scenes in the Bush administration?

Bush II administration officials replete with war hawks on Iraq, the vast majority of whom dodged the Vietnam War draft. Bush Cabinet appointees (and associates) consist of the following, who have rapidly steered U.S. foreign policy toward a decidedly fascist slant:
George W. Bush II
His foreign policy is dictated primarily by the Likud Party of Israel, (Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu), and also Israeli-firsters Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz. Having no direct experience and little knowledge of foreign policy, as illustrated by Bush’s gaffes - confusing Slovakia with Slovenia, referring to Greeks as “Grecians” and failing a pop quiz on the names of four foreign leaders it became clear early on that George W. Bush would have to rely heavily on his advisers.
Dick Cheney
Never served in military. The charitable Cheney paid himself $43 million as CEO for Halliburton oil drilling company in 1999 before running for office with Bush in 2000. Halliburton, the world’s largest oil field services company, through its European subsidiaries, sold spare parts to Iraq’s oil industry, despite U.N. sanctions. Wants to send American soldiers off to die to defend the continuance his and other oil company CEO’s exorbitant salaries. Cheney was one of the infamous Enron board members, (who survived the crisis, very well, thank you) also on Board of Advisors of Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA).
I. Lewis Libby
Israel-firster – Chief of Staff for the Vice President Dick Cheney. A Bush confidant & Enron board member who sold his stock before company collapsed. Legal counsel for Marc Rich, often called the “most corrupt corporate financier in the world,” who has ties to Bush and Cheney. Libby is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). A war hawk, pro-Israel and anti-Iraq, he avoided military service during the Vietnam War, attending Yale and Columbia universities.
Donald Rumsfeld
Israel-firster - #1 at Pentagon. Secretary of Defense. During the Iran/Iraq war in the 1980s, he was zealously arming Saddam Hussein with chemical and biological weapons which he successfully used to kill 750,000 Iranians, while Rumsfeld stood by as spectator egging him on. Now the same Rumsfeld condemns Hussein for possessing these mobile chemical weapon laboratories that the U.S. helped him to build. According to Bob Woodward's Bush at War, as early as the day after the 9/11 attacks, Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld “raised the question of attacking Iraq. ‘Why shouldn't we go against Iraq, not just al Qaeda?’,” Rumsfeld asked, despite no one ever having connected Saddam Hussein to the 9/11 bombings.
Paul Wolfowitz
Israel-firster - #2 at Pentagon, Deputy Secretary of Defense job description largely focused on disrupting European Unity in order to maintain U.S./Israeli dominance in Middle East. Just four days after the 9/11 attacks, Wolfowitz put forth military arguments to justify a U.S. attack on Iraq rather than Afghanistan. Wolfowitz expressed the view that “attacking Afghanistan would be uncertain; that American troops would be bogged down in mountain fighting. In contrast, Iraq, was a brittle, oppressive regime that might break more easily.”
Wolfowitz referred to all countries that hesitated to rush to war against Iraq as “countries that are quite frightened of their own shadows.” The pampered Wolfowitz avoided service in the U.S. military himself, but is quick to want to send American troops off to die for Israel.
Undersecretary of Defense under Bush I, former ambassador to Indonesia, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), a member of the Aspen Institute’s Strategy Group, reportedly attended the 2000 Bilderberg meeting in Belgium (Bilderberg’s ‘steering group’ boasts the wealthiest bankers and industrialists in the western world) and was a member of the Trilateral Commission as of 2000.
Douglas Jay Feith
Israel-firster - #3 at Pentagon. Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, the third-highest-ranking executive in the Pentagon. Collaborated with Richard Perle to write policy deeming that U.S. military should be used to protect Israel as if it were a 51st state of the U.S. During Reagan's second term, Feith resurfaced as part of Richard Perle's team at the Pentagon, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. War hawk Feith did not serve in the military.
Richard Perle
Israel-firster - Chief cohort of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, although technically not part of the Bush administration, Perle is the most influential in setting Bush foreign policy as Chairman of the “Defense Policy Board,” an advisory group that reports to Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz. Perle is a personal friend of Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu, a board member of the Jerusalem Post, and an ex-employee of the Israeli weapons manufacturer Soltam. Perle has successfully implanted Israel’s Likud Party’s fascist ideology into American foreign policy.
According to author Seymour M. Hersh, while Perle was a congressional aide for Henry “Scoop” Jackson, FBI wiretaps had picked up Perle spying for Israel, which according to U.S. law, should prevent him from serving the U.S. government. The wiretaps caught him providing classified information from the National Security Council to the Israeli embassy.
On July 8, 1996, Perle presented a written document to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, spelling out a new Israeli foreign policy, calling for a repudiation of the Oslo Accords, the elimination of the proposal of giving land back to the Palestinians, for the permanent annexation of the entire West Bank and Gaza Strip; and for the elimination of the Saddam Hussein regime in Baghdad, as a first step towards overthrowing or destabilizing the governments of Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and Iran.
In his current position, Perle still has access to classified documents and close contacts with the administration leadership. As an article in Salon.com puts it: “Formerly an obscure civilian board designed to provide the secretary of defense with non-binding advice on a whole range of military issues, the Defense Policy Board, now stacked with unabashed war on Iraq hawks, has become a quasi-lobbying organization whose primary objective appears to be waging war with Iraq.”
Perle is also a “resident fellow” at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) and a trustee of the Hudson Institute, all Israel-first think tanks that dictate U.S. foreign policy. At the Pentagon he was called, by friend and foe alike, the "Prince of Darkness." Perle himself never served in the military.
Laurent Murawiec
Murawiec is the first Frenchman to work for the Rand Corporation, a Washington, D.C. think tank that advises the Bush administration on foreign policy. Richard Perle of the Defense Policy Board organized a briefing of a plan of attack of Mideast countries that took place on July 10, 2002. An article in the Aug. 6, 2002 edition of the Washington Post newspaper described Murawiec’s speech at the meeting as follows:
“The Saudis are active at every level of the terror chain, from planners to financiers, from cadre to foot-soldier, from ideologist to cheerleader,” Murawiec was quoted as saying. Murawiec described the Saudi British-style monarchy as “the principal supporter of anti-American terrorism - the kernel of evil, the prime mover, the most dangerous opponent, and saying, “It is necessary for the U.S. to regard Saudi Arabia as an enemy of the United States.”
Murawiec suggested that the United States should demand that Riyadh stop funding fundamentalist Islamic outlets around the world, prohibit all anti-U.S. and anti-Israeli propaganda in the country, and “prosecute or isolate those involved in the terror chain, including the Saudi intelligence services.” If the Saudi's refused to comply with the ultimatum, Murawiec added, “the United States should invade and occupy the country [Saudi Arabia], including the holy sites of Mecca and Medina, seize its oil fields, and confiscate its financial assets.”
Murawiec concluded the briefing with the astounding summary of what he called a “Grand Strategy for the Middle East: Iraq is the tactical pivot, Saudi Arabia the strategic pivot, and Egypt the prize.” In short, the goal of the war on the Iraq was the destruction of the United States' closest allies. It would be hard to envision a policy better designed to inflame the entire Middle East against the United States. But that is exactly the result sought by Perle and the Israel-firsters.
The Bush Administration was furious that Murawiec’s revealing of their secret strategy got out in the Washington Post, but the rest of the U.S. media quickly went into “damage control” mode to suppress the story from reaching the vast majority of Americans in order to keep U.S. public opinion in line with the Bush pro-war camp.
John Bolton
Bush’s Under Secretary of State for “Arms Control.” Graduated same alma mater, Yale University, as did George Bush II, his father, George Bush I, and grandfather Prescott Bush.
David Wurmser
Israel-firster - Special assistant to Secretary of State for “Arms Control” John Bolton. Headed the Middle East studies department of American Enterpise Institute (AEI).
Meyrav Wurmser
Israel-firster – wife of David Wurmser. Member of the Hudson Institute, a Washington think tank that influences Bush II policy into protecting Israel at all costs.
Lieutenant-Colonel P. H. Liotta
Professor of national security affairs at the Naval War College. Writes about U.S. policy in the Journal of Homeland Security, August 2002 edition, condoning the use of “military pre-emption for more than simply protecting a nation and its people from traditional threat-based challenges.” Liotta argued that defense meant protecting the U.S. lifestyle, no matter how gas consumptuous it may be, “to protect our vital interests and our way of life.”
Colonel Yigal Carmon
Israel-firster - formerly of Israeli military intelligence was a co-founder of the Middle East Media Research Institute (Memri), a Washington think tank that influences Bush II policy into protecting Israel at all costs.
Dov Zakheim
Israel-firster – Pentagon Undersecretary of Defense & Comptroller. CEO of System Planning Corporation International and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
Condoleezza Rice
Big-oil executive - Bush II “National Security Advisor,” Soviet specialist, former director of Chevron Oil and Caspian Oil, which extracted oil from the oil-rich Caspian Sea which lies between Russian and Iran. Rice is so big in the oil business she has an oil tanker named after her.
Zalmay Khalilzad
Afghan-American, (ethnic Pashtun) leading foreign policy adviser on Afghanistan war strategy at the White House. Khalilzad, from an upper-class family, studied at American University in Beirut and earned a doctorate in 1979 at the University of Chicago. Khalilzad was a consultant for a company hired by the California-based Unocal Corp., which was trying to get the Taliban (which the U.S. backed, along with Osama bin Laden, in the war against the Soviet Union) to back a multibillion-dollar oil pipeline through Afghanistan. The Taliban would later decide not to cooperate with Unocal’s desire to build the oil pipeline, and that was a major reason (well suppressed by the U.S. media) why the U.S. went to war with Afghanistan (without, of course, a U.S. Congressional declaration of war mandated by the U.S. Constitution). U.S.-installed puppet dictator of Afghanistan and oil tycoon President Hamed Karzai was also a top advisor of the American oil company Unocal. Between 1985 and 1989, Khalilzad worked in Reagan’s State Department, advising on the Iran-Iraq war and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. In 1991 and 1992, he was assistant deputy undersecretary of defense for policy planning for the Bush I administration, working under Paul Wolfowitz, who now occupies the #2 seat at the Pentagon. During the Clinton years, Khalilzad worked on defense and political issues at the Washington office of Rand, a stridently pro-Israel policy think tank.
Donald Evans
Commerce Secretary - held stock valued between $5 million and $25 million in Tom Brown, Inc., the oil and gas exploration company he headed.
Colin Powell
Secretary of State – Bush II spokesman - Powell was on the corporate board of America Online, now merged with Time-Warner, which owns CNN. In February 2003 he presented fabricated evidence (written by a California grad student as an academic thesis) of a supposed Saddam Hussein/Al-Qaeda link to the U.N. in a failed attempt to try to get a U.N. coalition to declare war on Iraq. Raised in a predominantly Jewish community in the South Bronx in the 1950s, Powell learned both Jewish customs and how to speak Yiddish as a second language. This has served him well in the White House, as he has been often known to drop some Yiddish words to gain “Brownie points” with the powers-that-be in the Bush White House. At a Chicago church January 2003, Harry Belafonte referred to fellow Jamaican native Powell as Bush’s “house slave.”
Ari Fleischer
Israel-firster - White House Press Secretary, Bush’s public relations spokesman.
James Woolsey
Former Director of Central Intelligence. Current Bush media propagandist, gung-ho on “attack-Iraq.” On Board of Advisors of Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA).
Jeane Kirkpatrick
On Board of Advisors of Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA). Formerly served in the Reagan administration.
Eugene Rostow
Israel-firster - On Board of Advisors of Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), a Washington, D.C. think tank which helps to dictate Bush foreign policy.
Michael Ledeen
Israel-firster – Bush II media propagandist, served as Oliver North's Iran/Contra liaison with the Israelis during Reagan administration. Widely rumored to be part of Jonathan Pollard’s Israeli spy ring. Anti-Arab War hawk who never served in the military.
Marc Grossman
Israel-firster – State Department official, Bush II media propagandist.
Michael Levi
Israel-firster - Strategic Security Project, Bush II media propagandist.
George Tenet
Israel-firster - CIA Director, who has warned Bush II repeatedly about the perils of invading Iraq.
Joshua Muravchik
Israel-firster - American Enterprise Institute, a Washington, D.C. think tank which helps to dictate Bush foreign policy.
Robert Kagan
Israel-firster - Former State Department official, Bush II media propagandist writes for The Washington Post. In one of his articles he wrote, “When we have economic problems, it's been caused by disruptions in our oil supply. If we have a force in Iraq, there will be no disruption in oil supplies.”
Andrew Card
Georgh W.Bush II’s White House Chief of Staff and long-time Bush-family confidant. Card had been the automotive industry’s main voice as the CEO of its now-defunct trade group, the American Automobile Manufacturers Association. The AAMA was a well-funded group (it spent more than $12 million on lobbying in 1997-1998) that fought with Japan over trade issues and lobbied the U.S. government against stricter fuel emissions standards.
Spencer Abraham
Bush II’s Secretary of Energy, Arab-American, who’s sympathetic to big oil company executives.
John Ashcroft
Bush II Attorney General, who’s curtailing American’s right to privacy as one of the backers of the fascist “Patriot Act,” which virtually forces Americans to do and say what the Bush administration defines as “patriotic,” with failure to do so to eventually result in imprisonment.
Robert Mueller
Israel-firster – Bush’s FBI Director. Charged by Bush II to effectively revive the FBI’s infamous COINTELPRO (“counterintelligence program”) of the 1960s. At that time, the FBI collaborated with the Jewish Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of B’nai B’rith to infiltrate and spy upon a wide variety of dissident American political organizations. The names of some 62,000 American political dissidents were held in the FBI’s files during that period.
Michael Chertoff
Israel-firster - Assistant Attorney General, head of the Justice Department's criminal division. Along with Attorney General John Ashcroft, announced the arrests Feb. 20, 2003, by the FBI of four members of an alleged Palestinian terror group, including Florida engineering professor Sami Amin Al-Arian. They were not accused of being any threat to the U.S., but, according to the report, are charged with “being members or leaders of Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which is dedicated to the violent destruction of Israel and the formation of a Palestinian state,” the government report says. The indictment added that “the organization has carried out bombings and shootings against civilians in Israel.”
So the U.S. government is now acting on behalf of the Israeli government doing their enforcing for them.
Ariel Sharon
Israeli Prime Minister of the fascist Likud Party, elected to office in February 2001, noted for his ruthlessness — has been on record saying that the Palestinians should be permanently expelled to Jordan, whether Jordan wants to receive the Palestinians or not.
Benjamin Netanyahu
Former Israeli Prime Minister, Likud Party, currently acting as Bush II media propagandist to promote Likud Party fascist ideology in the U.S. media.
Elliott Abrams
Israel-firster – Bush II appointee as an assistant to National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice. Convicted criminal Iran-contra figure who plead guilty to two counts of lying to the U.S. Congress before he was pardoned by Bush I. During the Reagan/Bush I administration, Abrams headed the Latin American bureau for the State Department by sending arms to Iran, which was supposedly America’s enemy during the 1980-88 Iraq-Iran war, to help Iran kill approximately 250,000 Iraqis while the U.S. was also helping Iraq to kill approximately 750,000 Iranians. The double-crossing was unbeknownst to both Iran & Iraq at the time. His current assignment with Bush II is to help augment Israeli/American military dominance of the Middle East, by disarming all other countries in the region while the U.S. arms Israel to the hilt with approximately 70 nuclear warheads, enough to holocaust all Arab populations off the face of the map in just one day. The U.S. also has troops stationed in Israel to protect it against any possible attack from Arab lands. Regarding Abrams' credibility, former Republican Senator David Durenburger said, "I wouldn't trust Elliott any futher than I could throw Ollie North." Abrams also evaded military service during the height of the Vietnam War, reportedly due to “medical problems.”
Frank Gaffney Jr.
Israel-firster – Writer for Jewish World Review and Bush II media propagandist. Another highly visible hyper-hawk and Perle protégé, Gaffney, head of the Center for Security Policy (CSP), also avoided military service during Vietnam. Colin Powell's chief deputy, Richard Armitage, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate who served in Vietnam, has reportedly referred to Gaffney, as well as other members of the war hawks who dodged the Vietnam draft, as a “pissant.”
Fred Ikle
Israel-firster – Perle’s cohort on “Defense Policy Board.” Ikle was Undersecretary of Defense for Policy in the Reagan Administration and is now affiliated with the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a pro-Israeli Washington, D.C. think tank. In a Wall Street Journal, article dated May 31, 2002, Ikle was quoted, “A nuclear war stirred up against the 'infidels' might end up displacing Mecca and Medina with two large radioactive craters.”
Robert S. Mueller, III
Israel-firster – FBI Director.
Karl Rove
Senior adviser to President Bush – responsible for Bush II’s election and reelection campaigns.
Joshua B. Bolten
Israel-firster - Deputy Chief of Staff:, policy director for the 2000 Bush campaign. Bolten’s Rabbi is Yossie Dubrowski, born in Brooklyn, NY, now of Tampa, Florida, who has visited the White House and has a direct line to President Bush. In an article in the St. Petersburg Times October 27, 2002, Rabbi Dubrowski described his job by saying, “Basically I try to make sure Jews do not assimilate.” According to Bolten’s boss, Karl Rove, "He's the explainer of all things Jewish to the White House."
Jay Lefkowitz
Chief Counsel:, Deputy Assistant to the President, former law partner of Kenneth W. Starr. As a lawyer at Kirkland & Ellis, Lefkowitz had a mini-specialty in representing feuding family members as they sued their relatives.
Following are excerpts from an article in the Washington Post, Tuesday, April 30, 2002; Page A17:
“When Lefkowitz represented General Motors Corp. several years ago, the car company's executives called him ‘Viper’ because of his unrelenting style. "Now he's the president's Viper,” said Paul Cappuccio, a former law partner of Lefkowitz's who is now general counsel for AOL Time Warner Inc.
Along the way, Lefkowitz has become Bush's de facto in-house ethicist and a primary liaison to Christian conservatives -- a seemingly odd role for someone of the Jewish faith. Lefkowitz, the son of New York-born Zionist parents who taught him Hebrew as his first language, keeps Kosher, has a well-thumbed Hebrew language Bible in his office and takes a bicycle to work to avoid driving during Passover. Lefkowitz hopes to convince fellow Jews to embrace Republicans. In a 1996 speech, he said the Jewish community is “disintegrating,” in part because of its “embrace of the assimilationist ideal endorsed by the liberal Democratic Party.”
Steven Bryen
Israel-firster – Another Perle cohort. While serving as a staffer to the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee in the 1970s, Bryen was accused of passing U.S. military secrets to Israel, and promptly removed from his post.
Brad Blakeman
Israel-firster - Deputy Assistant to the President for Appointments and Scheduling:, who spent two years as Lead Advance Representative for Bush/Cheney 2000 and also worked in the same capacity for the Bush/Quayle campaigns in 1988 & 1992. From 1980-1993, he was a consultant to the offices of the President and Vice President of the United States.
Mark D. Weinberg
Israeli firster - Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs in Bush II White House. Served as Director of Public Affairs in the Office of Former President Bush I 1989-1991 and as Special Assistant to the President and Assistant Press Secretary for President Reagan 1981-1989. Formerly Director of Issues Management for The McGraw-Hill publishing company and Manager for Marketing Communications and Special Events for the U.S. Postal Service 1994-1999.
Michael Powell
Colin Powell’s son, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The FCC is the federal bureaucracy which grants licenses to TV and radio stations. Historically, FCC rules had always limited any one owner from owning no more than seven TV stations and seven radio stations. Over the past 10 years, those rules have been steamrolled over by major media conglomerates, and Powell is allowing the trend to continue of intensive concentration of these mega-media companies into the exclusive hands of the opulently wealthy, therefore virtually shutting out the common and local people who historically had a much more significant access to the available airwaves and cable channels, which had previously been thought to belong to the public at-large. Local control over the media has been rapidly dissipating — even moreso under Powell’s tenure. Now the media dare not speak out too vociferously and exercise their “right to free speech” against Powell’s boss, Bush II, lest they fear their broadcast licenses will either be revoked or not be renewed.
