Mass eviction in Argentina

dear friends, the goverment of the city of buenos aires has violently evicted a guvernamental building occupied by 500 families and piquetero organizations. There have been 200 children living there for the past 20 years. The building is being demolished right now. More than 100 companeros have been arrested, some of them of the unemployed workers movements anibal veron, and an undetermined number of people have been injured by the police violent repression. san telmo, the neighborhood where the building was located, is nowaday a touristy neighborhood and it's real estate value is threatened by the presence of the poor in the streets. please flood the web, denouncing the situation and demand that the government stops the repression immediately and that all of our arrested companeros are released. check out indymedia argentina (http://argentina.indymedia.org) for updated information.

tomorrow we will blockade the puerredon bridge in commemoration of the assasination of dario santillan and maxi kosteki and we will possibly cross it later and join the peaceful protest of the eviction. at noon, at the piquete (road blockade) on puente pueyrredon, the aap will do a children's painting workshop and will display the art work on the bridge.

amor y autonomia!
