Gather together, for we have work to do.

People make the movement. It's obviously not elephants right? So when we march in Los Angeles down Olympic and Broadway again this time, let us move with a force to be reckoned with.

People line the streets to watch us pass, let us offer them something other than just papers and signs, let us offer them real change.

Olympic is notoriously close to the carboard cabanas of the homeless population. Many of them are sick, with depression, addiction, or just medical disability.

Direct action could begin, not necessarily, but possibly, with the mobilizing of activists to help these people.

If we bolster the energy of the lowest among us, perhaps their energy will be ours to reap in the future.

We should bring blankets, food, clothing, and connections (to organizations that find homes for people). Most of all, we should bring hope.

Oh, and soap. (good soap too, with fresh smelly scent)

We are an army of do gooders, let us do some good.

Because we (once and for all) should walk and talk the same.

If we are proposing universal love and harmony, we cannot simply march through the devastated area like an army claiming victory.

We must march as an army of light lifting up more soldiers to join us.

This is crunch time for the underpriveledged. It's a good time to deduct war taxes from your income taxes by giving to the L.A. Mission.

Anyone interested in a march on poverty AND war, contact me at amatex@covad.net.

Let us put our actions where our hearts are.
