Derek Milosavljevic, Green Party candidate for L.A. City Council, is only a thousand bucks away from city matching funds! Help us reach ALL the voters in the 4th District and put a Green in the nation's second largest City Council!

HELP US BEAT DOWNTOWN BUSINESS' FAVORITE SHILL, TOM LABONGE!

Derek Milosavljevic, the Green Party's candidate for City Council in L.A.'s 4th District, is on the brink of getting matching funds from the city. This is no small matter. Without taking one dime of corporate cash, Derek has managed to raise almost $25,000 in funds that the city will match -- with ANOTHER $25,000! Those funds will enable Derek to reach ALL the voters in L.A.'s 4th District with direct mailers and TV commercials, giving him a fair shot at winning this race.

WE ONLY HAVE $1000 TO GO. But we need your help to bridge this gap.

It is people like you, not big businesses and their attendant shills, who got us to where we are now. Derek stands firm on providing affordable housing, cracking down on slumlords, defending the rights of the homeless and reducing traffic by promoting public transportation. Unlike his opponent, Derek isn't on the dole from developers and lobbyists -- that's why he can take these positions, and represent ALL of his constituents fairly, not just the chambers of commerce and homeowners' associations.

Please, HELP US BRIDGE THE GAP. We are counting you, L.A.! Go to our website RIGHT NOW at www.derekforcouncil.com and contribute via paypal, or just come on by our campaign office and write us a check, for whatever amount you can give. TIME IS SHORT. The election is March 4, and we have printers, cable stations and bulk mail services to pay. No time is too soon to reach those city matching funds!

It is the people who have gotten us this far, and it is the people who will carry us through. Let's elect one of our own -- a renter, not a homeowner -- and get a Councilmember who stands with, not above, the majority of L.A.'s citizens.
