We want you!
I am looking for anyone who was present at the Santa Ana City Council meeting last Tuesday, February 18. I would like to get your version of the police misconduct that occurred at that meeting. Please contact me as soon as possible. We can only regulate if we speak up.
For more details about this story, see "Activists for Elmer Bustos" section.

Elmer was a gangbanger on parole, with a weapon, which he unwisely pulled on police after they chased him. His brother says he had no weapon, Geez, what a surprise. Sounds like Elmer got his justice.

I don't know all the facts regarding what happened to Elmer Bustos when he was shot and killed by Santa Ana Police.
But what I do know is that when activists went to the last City Council meeting to speak about this issue, Santa Ana Police deployed a riot squad.
In addition to one person being arrested for not having a bicycle license, I've since learned Santa Ana Police were patrolling the area around City Hall and illegally stopping people for up to 45 minutes.
Some of the persons that were detained by Santa Ana Police that night have alleged to me that they were being questioned about their political beliefs and affiliations.
Santa Ana Police seem to have forgotten that evening that the Bill of Rights of the U.S. Constitution protects the right of anyone to petition their government for a redress of grievances.
