Bring flowers, tricouleurs, croissants, brie, mimes, dog eared copies of Les Miserables, scratched up Edith Piaf records, and Jose Bove autographs to:
a rally and delegation at French Consulate tomorrow, Thurs. 2/20 12:15PM at 10990 Wilshire Blvd(at Veteran.) in Westwood.
Oui A La Paix! Non A La Guerre!
Vive La Resistance! Vive Le Veto! Allons Enfants!
(Next week, a protest at British Consulate--if you'd like flyers for pubcrawling distribution please email
lsandrah@aol.com)
I should clarify--the purpose of the rally is to say Merci to the French people for standing up to the Bush Corp. at the UN---
I think you probably know as well as anyone that the French have their own imperialist reasons for "standing up" to Bush - they want the Iraqi oil to fuel the EU to a point where it can militarily compete with the US. The French state would be happy (and has been in the past) to be the ones dropping bombs and slaughtering people in the name of profits. They're just not as strong as the US (yet). So I see no reason to thank the French government. They're no better than the US, just weaker.
VIVA LA FRANCE! Now go back to eating your pathetic hamburgers and pepsi cola. Sure the leaders of France are capitalists... but they are RESPONDING to the masses of French people WHO DO NOT WANT Bush's stupid war. You should come to the "thank you France" rally to show your appreciation to the great French peope who have stood up in their millions to say NO TO WAR. No go back to your budlight.
