3000+ Human Shields

by Crystal Cook Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 12:44 AM
c_allenecook@juno.com

Mobilizing human shields to go to Iraq.

I have sent this proposition to ANSWER and NION and wondered who else out there would be interested. If you are, please contact me at my listed email address.

Dear members of Answer, Move On, Nion, etc.,

I know this may seem an unlikely proposition, but piggy-backing on this
weekend's rallies, could we possibly get people willing to go to Iraq,
en masse, to act as "human shields" -- maybe upwards of 3000+ US
citizens plus other people from around the world? I would be willing to try
to facilitate going and working with people to go from here in Los
Angeles. I think it may take an action like this to get this war machine
to stop. I am not even sure how people could or would get there, but I
would be willing to help.

As if there were any doubt

by Jay Lowe Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 3:14 AM

About how much the Left loves dictators.

They are willing to, and will ask others to, lay down there lives to protect a genocidal maniac.

oofah.

"About how much the (US) loves dictators."

by 000 Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 3:53 AM

As if there were any doubt about how much the US government, and the CIA, loves dictators including Saddam (who they supported for 15 years as a DICTATOR --- you fucking moron!).

Here's some more:

Trujillo
General Humberto Branco
Roberto Suazo Cordova
Noriega
Alfredo Cristiani
Chiang Kai-Shek
Pinochet
Ferdinand Marcos
General Suharto
Jean Claude Duvalier
Rios Mont
Batista
Fancisco Franco
P.W. Botha
Ian Smith

and of course, Saddam Hussein.

Now, now

by Jay Lowe Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 1:37 PM

Mr. I Can't Express Myself Without Vulgarity:

Let me first point out to you that the US aided the Contras against Noriega. . . who the Left championed as a great man of the people.

But, let me more imporantly point out to you that the US is oftentimes forced to chose between the lesser of two evils.

Hmm Chang Kai Scheck or Mao I Murdered 30 Million Peasant Tse Tung. . . who would you pick?

The Left, of course, chose the man who murdered 30 million peasants.

Let me FURTHER point out to you that the US has shed more of its sons and daughters blood than any other nation on earth to rid the world of tyrrants. . . while the Left has run around apologizing for Stalin, Mao, Castro, and now Saddam Hussein.

I'd stack up the US's record against that of the Left any day!

Now Jay time for your medicine.

by Diogenes Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003 at 4:42 PM

Well since you can't express yourself without vulgarity you might as well give it a try - since otherwise you add nothing worthy to the debate other than perhaps a foil upon which to point out the hippocracy of the militant right.

Let me put this in small words for you. War, killing for national advantage, is a time honored tradition in some dark corners of the Right.

When it was convienient George Bush did business with Noriega - when it became obvious that he was becoming a political liability he resorted to the use of our Armed Forces to take out a politically embarassing business partner. So, spare me the self-righteous indignation. The Bush family fortune is founded upon crime and on trading with criminals - Not the least of which was Prescott Bush's (Bushies Grandaddy) business partner Adolph Hitler.

"Let me first point out to you that the US aided the Contras against Noriega . . ."

Anything wrong with this sentence?

US is the biggest supporter of terror and dictators

by 000 Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003 at 2:31 AM

Mao is a scumbag dictator...don't be me wrong. However, it was Chaing Kai-Shek's corruption and brutality as a dictator that allowed Mao to develop a successful revolution. The US supported Chaing Kai-Shek the entire time. Read the history.

Your lack of historical knowledge on the subject of US terror and support for dictators would make Stalin cringe. Lets see, Allende or Pinochet? Pinochet was a butcher, Allende was popularly elected. Guatemala, 1954...democratically elected government overthrown by the CIA and United Fruit to be replaced with a 30 year military rule of the country...and on and on.

Also, lets look at this statement: "the US has shed more of its sons and daughters blood than any other nation on earth". The US lost only about 280,000 men in WWII. Poland itself lost over 300,000. Small countries such as Bulgeria lost over 300,000. And more importantly, Russia lost 11,000,000...THATS ELEVEN MILLION...defeating Nazi germany. I am not an apologist for stalin terror, but to suggest that US soldiers have shed more bled in wars of liberation is ridiculous.

I dont know which left you are talking too, but no one i know is making apologies for Stalin, Mao, Saddam, etc. And your naive understanding of the term the "left" needs some work. Even those on the "right" oppose this war...former weapons inspecter Scott Richter for one, including just about every soldier in the first Gulf War, and even some of the generals. get a clue...

I think

by Sheepdog Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003 at 2:44 AM

...that the Soviet Union lost 22 million
in the 'great patriotic war' which would
not have happened if CERTAIN principals
had not funded that lunatic corporal.
- Like the Bush family-
