The Resistance has scored it's first major victory. Americans opposed to the US Government's Orwellian spy project, the (TIA) Total Information Awareness project, have succeeded in encouraging the US Senate to shelve John Poindexter's project pending further investigation into its effects on privacy and civil liberties. The next step is to win the support of the House of Representatives.
The JPAO demands the complete and total shutdown of the TIA and the Information Awareness Office (IAO). We also demand removal of convicted felon John Poindexter from any and all surveillance activities within the US Government. We urge you to contact your representative and demand:

| The projects of the IAO predate the attacks of 9/11/2001. These terrorist attacks were exploited as a means to forward a totalitarian monitoring regime which threatens the liberty of all Americans. | |
| The TIA and the IAO will not stop terrorism. Terrorists will remain below its radar while ordinary citizens are miscategorized as potential terrorists and denied their rights. | |
| The TIA violates the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution. | |
| The US Military should play no role in civilian law enforcement. | |
| Mr. Poindexter, director of the IAO, demonstrated a contempt for the Constitution during his leadership of the Arms for hostages and illegal funding of the Contras program under President Reagan. Mr. Poindexter lied to Congress about such activities. An individual with a demonstrable history of contempt for the Constitution is unfit to lead a domestic espionage program |
