Certainly, We The People, have a say.
I have been following the sad story of the 400-year old oak tree in Santa Clarita, CA. It is a shame that greedy people behave this way. However, We The People, do have a say. We can choose who we wish to purchase a home from. We can determine who we desire to vote for. We are responsible for preserving this Planet for our children, their children, and beyond. Nobody owns a tree. Nobody owns any part of this Planet. We must act properly, not only to set examples, but to also teach future generations how to simply survive. I will boycott the developer who moves this tree, and anyone who helps.
It's really simple...if nobody buys the homes he builds, he won't build any more homes. And shame on the City and County of Los Angeles for not building the road around this tree. We can put six men on the Moon, but we cannot build a road around a 400-year old oak tree. Well, perhaps, that is part of the problem...we've put "men" on the Moon. Maybe when we put more women are in positions of power, we will see a change in the way things are done.
