Protest Racist Mascots at the Fullerton Joint Union High School District Board Meeting!
When: Tuesday, December 10, 2002
What: Protest begins at 5PM. At 7:30 PM, we will speak at the Board Meeting.
Why: Tell the board that the racist Fullerton "Indian" and Sonora High's "Zapata's Raiders" mascots need to be removed from the schools, because they are demeaning, promote ignorance about Mexican/Indigenous cultures, and perpetuate racist stereotypes. WE ARE ACTUALLY AN AGENDA ITEM THIS TIME. We have been present at their meetings since June, and have been repeatedly silenced, so this meeting is very important.
Where: The meeting and protest will take place at the District Education Center, located at 1051 W. Bastanchury Rd., at the corner of Euclid and Bastanchury, in Fullerton.
