Dear Radio Friend,
The latest Shortwave Report (December 6) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality 13.6MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.4MB) (29:51) It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will not be aired on Friday evening at KZYX/Z Philo CA due to fundraising.
There are several other streams that work better- http://members.cruzio.com/~frsc/ Freak Radio Santa Cruz (96.3fm) streams this program on Friday at 5:35pm (PST) and on Monday at 9amPST.
Also check out LavaLamp Radio (Japan)- http://www.rinku.zaq.ne.jp/bkaec205/
streaming the SWR, check out the schedule.
And the Partytown streams are great and informative- http://www.partytown.com/radio
This week's show features stories from China Radio International, Radio Netherlands, Radio Deutsche Welle, the Voice Of Russia, and Radio Havana Cuba.
From China- Iraq has accused the UN Arms Inspectors of spying for the US CIA and Israel's Mossad, and denied a report that an Iraqi boat opened fire on Kuwaiti Coast Guard vessels.
From Netherlands- Fighting between rival Kurdish groups in N Iraq has rapidly escalated. UN Sec Gen Anan has called on Israel to investigate the destruction of a UN food depot. Then from Columbia, Sec of State Powell has linked rebel warfare and drug-trafficking to terrorism, increasing the US funds to Pres Uribe. Then a report on the 3 million Columbian civilians uprooted by the war between rebels, paramilitaries and the military.
From Germany- Israel continues to escalate attacks in the Gaza and West Bank, and Germany is going to supply them with Patriot missles. Australia's Prime Minister said he would be willing to launch pre-emptive strikes against his Asian neighbors, who were quite upset with his statements.
From Russia- 14 of the 15 members of the UN Security Council became indignant with the US trying to disrupt extension of the Oil-For-Food program for Iraq. The program has now been extended for 6 months.
From Cuba- The British Environment Minister raged against the US policy of only offering genetically-modified foods to countries facing starvation- the US is also trying to force EU members to import GMO foods. A group of United Nation workers in Israel have petitioned Israel to stop harassing, beating and killing UN staff. Venezvuala's VP has apologized to professional clowns for his comparing them to Otto Reich, Bush's appointed top diplomat to Latin America. Mexican farmers are continuing their protests against NAFTA, saying that the removal of import tariffs on January 1st will destroy their ability to market their crops.
I was recently interviewed on a radio program called RISE- the topic was "The End Of The Age Of Oil," talking about living and producing radio off-the-electrical-grid. Kellia Ramares produces the show, which may be found at- http://www.radio4all.net/proginfo.php?id=5835
All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt!
