Help Needed in Glendale!
Help us rise up and strike a solid blow at the current system of neo-feudalism! As indigenous wisdom teaches us, the land is for the common good, yet landlords throughout the state of California and the country are exploiting the land and the people. Landlords are demonstrating complete disregard for anything other than their own selfish interest--rent gouging as much as $1,100.00 a month for a one-bedroom apartment in Glendale. This must stop! Right now, in Glendale, we are working on a rent control petition that will challenge state law (see
http://www.glendaletenant.com/text2.htm). Our city attorney is a good man and will fight the battle in the courts for us. He has won cases based on similar legal grounds. BUT we must first get the petition signed and get the law passed. This fight is going to take a lot of organizing and a lot of volunteers to motivate and educate people.
