On November 9th in Florence Italy, the largest demonstration against a war on Iraq took place, with possibly one million people taking part!

Organizers of the demonstration call it the first, "All European Peace Demonstration" and estimate that between 800,000 and 1,000,000 people from all over Europe participated. This photo shows flag-waving, whistle-blowing protesters marching through the streets of Florence. A huge banner at the head of the march read, "Take your War and go to Hell!"
