Nice picture but who is he? Never heard of KRS-1
He's one of the most prolific and influencial rap artists alive in hip hop today. He's also a motivational speaker, and you can trust KRS-1.
KRS-1 is a concious rapper who speaks the truth to power. I still have my KRS-1 tennis ball from Smoke Out 1999, I gotthe first ball tossed into the crowd. KRS-1 even teamed up with the notorious band Rage Against The Machine to create the great track CIA where KRS-1 correctly lables the CIA Criminals In Action. If you have some time I suggest finding a copy of this track (kazaa anyone).
KRS-1 is an abbreviation or acronym for Krisna(Krishna). I read an article in one of my wife's Yoga Journals' about him. You got a pc, look into it.
But when I respectively saw both of them on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect show, KRS was talking political mumbo-jumbo, and Chuck D wasn't talking _ANYTHING_ in particular at all. You wouldn't have believed that Chuck used to be the same Chuck D of Public Enemy! (The only time Chuck D is any good anymore is when he's talking about rap music and the exploitative, and often racist, major white recording labels and entertainment corporations.)
They weren't saying anything about Iraq (and all the poor and working-class brothas fighting there), they weren't saying anything about Palestine (or about the Palestinians, another European-/American-oppressed 3rd World people, the colonial 'niggers' of Israel and Zionist Jews), they weren't even saying anythiing about Haiti and the constant U.S. destablization of Haiti since it became a country (and how we can go marching off to war, and dying, in Iraq for Bush when he does that), or the massacres in Rwanda, or the crisis in the Sudan, or the Western oil companies exploitation in Nigeria, or that fact that _economic_ apartheid still exists in South Africa and that the ANC has caved into the white economic elite, "Globalization", the IMF and the World Bank. White South Africans own more of South Africa now than they did under apartheid!
They respectively weren't even talking about ancient or modern African scholars or great ancient African civilizations or modern Black authors (whether American, African, Caribbean, or European). And I've never heard them say anything substantive on TV or to a broad general public multiracial audience about national or international poitical topics or world affairs. No knowledge reigned supreme there! I think that both KRS and Chuck D go on TV talk shows just to advertise _themselves_.
