WILL THE STUPIDITY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE EVER END?

by AL MARTIN Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002 at 12:33 AM
virtualagency@lycos.com

The death of Senator Paul Wellstone was a phenomenal stroke of luck for the Republicans.

Wellstone was the Democrats' best hope to hold onto control of the Senate. According to the polls, he was going to be reelected. Since his wife was also killed, she won't be able to stand in for him. This is unlike the Mel Carnahan situation in which he also died in a plane crash but his wife was able to take his place. It should be remembered that John Ashcroft was actually defeated by a dead guy (Mel Carnahan) in Missouri. That demonstrates the popularity of Ashcroft, the current Gauleiter of the Beltway. The laws are a little unclear - but what a stroke of luck for the Republicans.

What it actually demonstrates

What it actually demonstrates is the stupidity of the voters. They should have voted for Ashcroft.

Lucky break for America that they didn't.

Now we have Ashcroft in a much more important role than Senator.

Isn't he great!!

Apparently voting doesn't matter either.

Since he wasn't elected.

Elected?

The Attorney General is appointed by the President and approved by the Senate. In that sense, he was elected by the Senate.

...the entire pretense of representative government.

Unless of course we may wish to represent the people

instead of the wealthy. Without corporate money how

can anyone even get into debate with the money party

we call Democrats/Republicans?

I'm not the only one who gets sick of the 30 sec

bites at 0,000 a pop saturating the media air waves

until one needs to puke.

Ever heard of fighting fire w/ fire?

If you want to defeat capitalism, become better capitalists that the one's running the show, then implement your own agenda.

...Mr. Fire; with that kind of logic the house gets

burnt down.

why don't you just tell a christian to get a job at Planned Parenthood to fight abortion? that's more a strategy for those reformist green party weaklings.
