Poem

Uncle Sam's Kazoo

I can't breath I can't breath

I'm down on my knees

Uncle Sam sold the air

to the Japanese

now if you're gonna breath

you're gonna pay

and it'll cost you all

about a dollar a day

I used to think Uncle Sam

was a real swell guy

'till he knifed me in the back

stuck me in the eye

and so it's hide your children

the White House is on it's way

Johnny can't read

I'm wonderin' why

who needs the ABC's

we got the FBI

we got the ATF

we got the CIA

we got the NSA

we got the DEA

I used to think Uncle Sam

was this real swell Joe

now I ain't sure

now I don't know

and so it's hide your children

the Bush klan is on their way

Bang bang mama

here comes the heat

that's your little Johnny

lyin' dead in the street

what's his crime

hey that's easy to say

he was born a poor black child

in east LA

I used to think Uncle Sam

had a little soul

but poor kids can't eat

from an empty bowl

and now it's hide your children

Wall Street is on it's way

Dirty cop dirty cop

he's after me

so full of hate

that man can't see

right wing left wing

I'm askin' why

you're puttin' feathers on a bird

that won't never fly

I used to think Uncle Sam

was this real slick dude

'till I caught him turnin' tricks

I saw him in the nude

and now it's hide your children

the Pentagon is on it's way

Republican preacher man

Democrat

ain't got a clue

about where it's at

don't trust 'em people

I'm tellin' you why

if his mouth is open

then he's tellin' a lie

I used to think Uncle Sam

was on my side

'till he took my brother to Nam

where my brother died

and now it's hide your children

the war machine is on it's way
