FOX NEWS and the Rehabilitation of Mark Fuhrman

Mark Fuhrman, the corrupt, racist LAPD cop who testified in the OJ Simpson trial, and was famously revealed to have made repeated statements using the 'n' word, including that he believed all n*****s should be burned , was featured on FOX NEWS today as an expert commentator on the Sniper shootings.

If you thought that no news network would touch Fuhrman with a ten foot pole after the disgusting racism, planting of evidence and corruption that characterised his appearance in the Simpson trial think again.

On today's episode of 'On the Record' with Greta van Susteren, 'ex LAPD detective' Fuhrman was presented as an expert cop and interviewed by van Susteren on his thoughts about the so called Serial Sniper.

Fuhrman is probably one of the clearest personifications of all that is wrong with the LAPD, the face of racism in America. Yet FOX chose to essentially endorse his views by inviting him as a guest over many other former, and currently serving, detectives who could have easily taken his place.

However, the fact that the sniper shootings are occurring so geographically far away from Furhman's city of employment as a cop, makes the choice of him as an 'expert' commentator hint at worse motives on Fox's part.

In the same way as Oliver North was 'rehabilitated' by conservative forces after the Iran Contra scandal, and now has a regular feature on FOX NEWS entitled 'War Stories', Furhman's appearance on Fox is an attempt to regain credibility for a man who should never be heard from again.

Fox's decision is a clear example of its moral bankruptcy and of the spinelessness of conservatives in this country in general, when a racist of the worst kind can be calmly interviewed as if he were a respected member of society.
