The commercial MEAT FACTORY is a weekly politics/obscure music radio show. It is our intention to bring our community awareness about human, earth and animal liberation as well as fill your mind with enticing and obscure, yet sometimes absurd music.

The show airs Fridays from 5-7 pm PST on WPMD 1700 AM and worldwide on the web at www.cerritos.edu/wpmd The first hour is our community forum and the second belongs to the noise. WPMD 1700 AM is available to over half a million residents of Cerritos, Artesia, Bellflower, Paramount, Downey, La Mirada, Norwalk,Hawaiian Gardens, Lakewood and parts of Long Beach & Whittier, California.

fly pan am is a young montréal-based instrumental rock quartet whose ear for melody, honed in large part through obsessive exposure to the French pop tradition, is combined with a strong forward-looking experimentalism, driven by an intransigent faith in the unfulfilled possibilities of minimalism and musique concrète in rock composition. fly pan am address and engage a tradition of art-punk that encompasses VU, talking heads & sonic youth, maintaining an exuberant innocence while consciously disavowing primitivist elements in favour of structural refinement .

roger, one of the group's two guitarists, was recruited by godspeed you black emperor! in the summer of 1998, but fly pan am remains his primary project. j.s., the group's bassist, also played in the now-defunct montréal hardcore band wisigoth. the band 's other members include jonathan on guitar and felix on drums. all members contribute to the tape-based element of the music.
