This is a handout I made to commemorate the shameful action of the US Congress in voting to authorize military force against Iraq. The handout, with its powerful photo, is available in MS Word format (46 KB) at
http://www.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=208480&group=webcast and as an Acrobat PDF file (156 KB) at
http://www.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=208479&group=webcast Please feel free to distribute this as widely as you can. Post it on other websites, send it to members of Congress, the UN, or anyone else you think might be inspired to active opposition by this betrayal of the public trust. The Bush war machine may still be stopped, but only if the whole country starts making noise.
P.S. Could some kind soul upload the handout as a JPG file or some other format that's visible on IMC? I tried without success. Thanks.
A. The French were enthusiastic collaborators during Nazi occupation, with less than 2% of the population participating in the resistance. French industrial output actually increased during the German occupation and French Jews were happily turned over for annihilation.
B. The US, as in the 1940's, going to Iraq to rid the world of an oppressive dictator. As was the case in the 1940's we are not expecting any help from the French.
A. The US media were enthusiasticly pro-Nazi all the way up to the outbreak of the war...and many companies...including Ford, continued to do business with Germany, helping them build weapons that killed American soldiers. Henry Ford was a known anti-Semite (remember the Protocols of Zion?) who recieved a medal from Hitler himself. The refusal of the US to allow Jewish Refugees into the country before AND after the war started meant we "happily" turned them over for annihilation.
B. The US will only exchange the oppressive dictator in Iraq that does not do what we tell him with a different oppressive dictator who will. According to the plan...that oppressive dictactor will be the US. The French are smart not to be involved in such lunacy.
