Fundraising Run/Jog/Walk in Griffith Park, for US Political Prisoners and the Autonomous Settlement of Maclovio Rojas in Northern Mexico.

Run for their lives!

Support United States Political Prisoners and

Prisoners-of-War at the 4th annual RUNNING DOWN THE WALLS!

On Saturday, October 19, 2002, join in the community effort to support and raise awareness of those who have been targeted and punished for their political actions and beliefs.

RUNNING DOWN THE WALLS is a 5k non-competative run/jog/walk through the hills of Griffith Park. Registered participants will recieve food and entertainment and there will be water available at

rest stops along the route. Registration entry fees are: for pre-registration; for senior citizens and children; for late registration at the run site. Supporters who wish not to run, jog, or walk may make a donation. The event will begin at 9 a.m.

Speakers and entertainment will continue after the run and will last until 4:00 p.m.

Proceeds from this 5K run will benefit the Anarchist Black Cross Federation (ABCF), Warchest. Founded in 1994, the program has provided consistant and reliable financial aid to Political Prisoners held within the US prison system. Since its creation, it has raised over ,000 to these prisoners and will continue in these efforts.

SUPPORT THE AUTONOMOUS SETTLEMENT OF MACLOVIO ROJAS IN NORTHERN MEXICO:

A portion of the proceeds will also go to the autonomous settlement of Maclovio Rojas. Presently, the Mexican government and US-owned businesses are attempting to evict the 2000 families that reside in the settlement in order to make room for additional maquiladores along the US border. It is imperative that conscientious people in the United States speak up against these crimes for capitalism. It is important that we all join in the efforts to supply aid to all

the communities in Mexico who are resisting similar threats of eviction, as well as helping them maintain and build their autonomous communities.

"International solidarity is not an act of charity. It is and act of unity between allies fighting on different terrains toward the same objective. The foremost of these objectives is to aid the development of the humanity to the highest level possible."

-Samora Machel(1933-1986)

In the previous years, we have had solidarity runs in Winnipeg, Canada and Leavenworth Federal Prison. Solidarity runs for this year are soon to be announced.

There are over 150 Political Prisoners and Prisoners-of-War, coming from various movements, from Black Liberation (Black Panther/BLA/New Afrikan), Chicano/Mexicano, Native American, Puerto Rican Independence, Anti-Imerialist, Anti-Capitalist, Anti-Authoritarian, and others here in the United States today. Not recognized by this U.S. government as well. These prisoners have been unfairly incarcerated while fighting for social justice and self-determination. Many of our freedoms are due to these individuals who sacrificed their lives and freedoms for the benefit of others. Show them you care for and support their efforts by RUNNING DOWN THE WALLS!

"Any Movement that does not support its political internees is a sham movement" -Anarchist POW Ojore Lutalo
