What: Stopping Anti-Gay Violence in West Hollywood - a panel discussion and public forum

When: Saturday, September 21, 6:00 p.m.

Where: Plummer Park, rooms 5 & 6

Who: Movement for Action and Accountability (MA2). Panelists will include:
Myron Quon, deputy director of the western regional office of Lambda Legal,
Shirley Bushnell, Van Ness House transgender outreach specialist,
Ivy Bottini, member of the West Hollywood Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board,
Barry Greenfield, chairman of the West Hollywood Public Safety Commission,
Rich Ryan, City of West Hollywood Public Safety specialist,
Marshall Wong, Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission,
Deputy Don Mueller, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Dept. Community Liaison,
Jessie Funes, youth activist,

Why: The recent gay-bashings in West Hollywood highlight the need for public discussion on developing a safer city for all its citizen and visitors - especially transgenders, youth, seniors, and gays and lesbians.

The Movement for Action and Accountability is an independent, community-based membership group dedicated to grassroots activism in the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, and intersex community. Furthermore, we will act as watchdogs and will speak as stakeholders demanding accountability from and unfettered access to the institutions that serve us.
