Sudanese-born resident of Leimert Park, Kola Boof, the bestselling author of "Long Train to the Redeeming Sin"...was attacked this past Wednesday night by three Arab-Islamic gunmen outside Los Angeles. Boof has been the recipient of death threats from Muslim fundamentalists for months now, because of her angry, dramatic comments about Sudan's Arab government and the religion Islam. Boof is a member of Sudan's SPLA and is often called, by southern Black slaves in Sudan--"Queen Kola".

The gunmen attacked Boof, firing four shots and yelling at her in Arabic, "Traitors of Allah die!" Kola Boof stunned them by pulling out her own gun and firing back--shooting out their two back tires, but not preventing them from escaping, unfortunately. Kola Boof was not hit, but she was arrested by U.S. law enforcement for unlawful use and possession of a fire arm. She is now in the U.S. Virgin Islands where the Feds can better "protect her". According to publicist Yi Nee Ling (Boof's publisher is North African Book Exchange for which Ling works), Kola Boof says, "I am being treated like a Queen. America is my husband now." The very controversial author is famous for insisting that she be shown topless on the back covers of her books. She is quite attractive and volatile. She said today: "Like so many Black African slaves in Sudan...I am hoping that ISRAEL will defeat the evil Arab nations that oppress the Black people of North Africa. I pray that women will someday escape Islam. It's a terrible religion for African women." She has given a statement regarding death threats made against her that can be read here: http://poetwomen.50megs.com/custom2.html
