Open Letter to Photographers
Main stream media outlets can’t be counted on to provide meaningful coverage of events. The Indymedia site, as you know can and does. Acting as a powerful clearinghouse of information, Activist around the world are able to witness and participate in the full spectrum of progressive events.
The Indymedia web site has been a great vehicle for expressing my passions for social justice and photography. What I’d like to propose is this. Anyone interested in participating in an e-mail user group designed to exchange event information and insure IMC coverage is encouraged to contact Jim (builder123@mindspring.com).
As a side note the “photo exchange group” idea came up at the IMC meeting a couple of weeks ago and I sat on it until last Saturday when something happened and that something is this:
DNA AWARNESS MARCH & RALLY FOR PUBLIC SAFETY
Tuesday August 27th. 10 am – 1 pm
Downtown LA
For more information call 310-645-9249 or 323-935-0114 or E-mail Rainbow Sisters Project at RBSistersProject@aol.com
One of the organizers asked me to photograph the event and I can’t. It sure would have been nice to e-mail the group to find somebody that could.
Your thoughts are welcomed,
Jim
