Police "disappear" cameraman in police assault case.

It seems that the LA-area police, after being caught again beating a black motorist by a citizen bystander has decided to "disappear" the man on possibly faked warrants! Next this man will probably end up dead of "an apparent suicide".
Wake up America! It is quite clear that the police-emboldened by the Bush Administration's gutting of our Constitutional protections-has deciced that they can do whatever they please.
Notice also the near blackout of coverage regarding the protest in LA on Wednesday in response to this tradgedy. The events were scarcely mentioned on CNN/Headline news.
Bottom line is that the mainstream media is no longer reporting the news as it happens but is actually nothing more than a Government propoganda machine!
God save America!

Whoa!

by Gerardo Friday, Jul. 12, 2002 at 8:00 PM

Hey, Mr. Salthouse, I grew up in Chile during the 70's, and I've seen the way people were "disappeared", so don't try to compare this low-life thief ( I hear he has a warrant in NoCal for stealing from his mother, of all things!) to innocent men, women, children, and the elderly who were gunned down like dogs. Quit trying to be so damned international. Have you ever had an FN stuck in your face? I have, in Santiago, while walking home from school with my father. I was 9. You don't know what oppression is, my friend, so stop posing. The guy's in jail for warrants, plain and simple. Don't try to make a martyr out of him. You dishonor the memories of REAL victims.

MUERTE AL PERRO PUTO PINOCHET!

Sorry! Didn't mean to step on your toes by my reference to "disappeared". I know about Pinochet's crimes and agree with your sentiments entirely.
However, I do not swallow the claims about this photographer that have been made by the police (the actual criminals in this caes!) just like I don't believe Pinochet's claims of innocence. The US media is nothing less than a big brother Bush propoganda machine and anyone who accepts their version of spoon-fed reality is out of the loop to say the least.
I have also found that US residents (citizens or not) are quick to forgive all Governmental transgressions against the poeple/the Constitution because they believe that since American life is such a 'STEP UP"
from the one that they left behind that everything is "peachy" and there is no need to stand against those who would do away with what little freedom is left.
By the way if my memory serve me correctly, wasn't the US government also involved in the Chile atrocities in some way? If you really think that we are currently that far away from the liklihood of "disappearances" in the US you must not be getting your political news from a very unbiased source. Perhaps you found INDYmedia by mistake?
