This is what plutocracy looks like

by jonathan Thursday, Jun. 20, 2002 at 7:47 AM

.

'' Pharmaceutical companies are among 21 donors paying $250,000 each for red-carpet treatment at tonight's GOP fundraising gala starring President Bush, two days after Republicans unveiled a prescription drug plan the industry is backing, according to GOP officials.

Republican officials declined to disclose the donors to the event at the Mayflower Hotel, which is expected to net as much as $30 million for the party. ''

- Washington Post

'' Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld sold between $20.5 million and $91 million in assets last year to avoid conflicts of interest, he said in a disclosure report.

Rumsfeld complained to the Office of Government Ethics that the "excessively complex and confusing" forms cost him more than $60,000 in accountants' fees to compile. "I do not have the time" to fill them out personally, Rumsfeld wrote. ''

I can hardly wait.....

by a3m Thursday, Jun. 20, 2002 at 3:47 PM
remote location

I imagine it not only sounds like a big Hollywook affair. I imagine it will look like one too. Roll out the redcarpet prescription waiting line.

I can hardly wait for the T.V. adds.

I can hardly wait for the product tie-in gravy trains.

Great crew of producers and directors. But since it's a secret group , we'll never know. Imagine: a $$30MILLION
BOX ON OPENING NITE. Gonna be a good run.

My son told me they were GIVING AWAY PROZAC

Maybe they heard the Bill Gates Gospel!

Frankly, if Disney ever has a movie and the names are
all secret, Who wrote it? Secret! Who directed? Secret!
I WON'T GO SEE IT!!!!!

Too bad I don't have the same sort of an option with HOLLYWOOD ON POTOMIC
