Cinco de Mayo, 1862, the gallant Mexican People defeated French Colonial Troops at the battle of Puebla... marking the beginning of the end for French rule over Mexico. In celebration of the occasion, I offer my Drawing of one of Mexico's Revolutionary Sons, Emiliano Zapata. This work, along with many others, is part of a Cinco de Mayo group show titled "LATINO HERITAGE - EXPLORING THE CULTURE."

The show opened on May 2nd at the Lankershim Arts Center, in L.A.'s NO HO ARTS DISTRICT of the San Fernando Valley. The exhibition focuses on works by contemporary Latino Artists living in Los Angeles, and will run until the end of May. Free and open to the public. The Lankershim Art Gallery is located at 5108 Lankershim Boulevard, in North Hollywood. Gallery hours: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 11-5. Sat 12-6. For more info call (818) 766-0529.
