BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

On Saturday evening April 20th Matthew Lamont age 20 and Maxwell Lucas age 17 were pulled over in their vehicle while driving in the city of La Habra. They were both arrested and later charged with possession of an explosive device and use of an explosive device.

Matthew Lamont was scheduled to have his first arraignment on Tuesday April 23rd in Division 7 of the North Court of Orange County in the city of Fullerton. At the end of the hearing, as matt was being led back out of the courtroom by the bailiff one of matt’s supporters in the courtroom, Jeff Hendricks, yelled ‘Thug life’. The Judge pressed the emergency button and the bailiff immediately arrested Jeff.

Jeff was arrested for two misdemeanor charges: contempt of court and communication with a prisoner. Jeff was held on 15,000 bail until his arraignment on Thursday April 25. During his arraignment Jeff had his bail lowered to 7,500. On Friday Jeff maid bail and was about to be released when a Deputy ran into the release room of the jail with a hold: A new warrant from the Long Beach police department for remaining at the scene of a riot. HASAN HASAN

Hasan is a comrade who we have worked with here in Long Beach. He has been in the country on a work visa from Kuwait. Recently Hasan was fired from his job as a teacher in the Cerritos school district. Immediately upon his termination the INS arrested him on a visa violation for not being employed. He was originally held incommunicado. Now he is being held in INS detention in Lancaster. More info about this will follow. The ADC (American Arab anti discrimination committee) has been contacted about Hasan and may take up the struggle.
