Matt called today and said that him and Max were followed by Long Beach detectives into La Habra. They were pulled over by La Habra police, however the plain clothed LB detectives were present, and were the ones who searched their car. These are the gang unit detectives/officers who usually drive around in silver/dark blue cars. Matt is being charged with 5 felony counts: possession of destructive device, use of destructive device with intent to harm, sell/transport of destructive device, making a destructive device without permit. The judge at his arraignment said his 5th charge was his warrants. Matt's next arraignment is on May 14th at Fullerton Court. Department 7.

There has been consistent harassment by police at the LB infoshop. Today a cop in a silver car pulled up directly in front of the infoshop for several minutes. He stayed there completely idle. He glanced inside a few times but mostly kept looking forward as if he was "on guard", waiting to see who entered or left the premises. He wasn't doing anything until someone walked out of the infoshop and stood next to him. He then smiled and drove around the corner, and came back around the front before driving off. Earlier today a young man was being harassed by police in front of the infoshop. The police asked to search his bag, and asked if he had ever been inside the infoshop. When the police didn't get their way they decided to make a scene by turning on their sirens in attempt to scare the individual.

Jeff (who was arrested at Matt's arraignment) has his arraignment on Thurs, April 25th 8am at Fullerton court.. His charges are contempt of court, and unlawful communication with inmates. These are misdemeanor charges.

I have been trying to get updates on Max. As far as I know he is still in Juvenal jail. If anyone has updates on his situation please post it around.

A math instructor at Cerritos college and member of the Long Beach Peace Network, Hasan Hasan, has been illegally detained by the INS and is now being held at the Long Beach Police Department. Without being given any reason Hasan Hasan was both fired from his job and arrested within a matter of minutes.

Jeff Hendricks of Long Beach was arrested for contempt of court and is being arraigned Thursday, April 25 [tomorrow] at 1275 North Berkeley Ave in Fullerton [North Court Fullerton] starting at 8:30AM... please come support him! [he yelled out during Rampage's arraignment, and instead of being properly warned or asked to leave, he was arrested and held, and remains in Orange County Jail charged with Contempt of Court and Unlawful Communication with a Prisoner. This is EXCESSIVE and most likely due to his support of POLITICAL PRISONERS!] His current bail is ,000.

Max Lucas of South Bay Food Not Bombs remains in Juvenile Hall in Orange County [next door to county jail] and has hired legal counsel. Details of his arraignment, case, and charges are sealed due to his age. More info on Max will be posted as it becomes available. He was arrested with Matt "Rampage" Lamont on April 20th.

At the Shack, nazis tried to run over anti-racists in front of police and shouted death threats. Why the fuck is it ok to do hate crimes to non-nazis, but if you drive a car around with a spare gas can in it and you are an anti-nazi activist, then it is a hate crime? Only in the United Shits of AmeriKKKa!

And how can Rampage be charged with a hate crime if he didn't do anything?

Since when is opposing hatemongers and standing up for human rights a hate crime?

How many of the cops that arrested Rampage and Max and the prosecutors that are trying them are people of color? How many are card carrying KKK members?

Don't we need to get some publicity out on the Hasan hasan case

immediately. He is the Cerritos College math instructor who was just picked

up by the INS and Long Beach Police and is being threatened with immediate

deportation. He is a former student at Cal State Long Beach and was arrested

about a year ago by the Cal State Long Beach Campus Police because of an

anonymous threatening telephone call. All charges were dropped.

But now he is threatened with deportation. No reason given. He was

fired form Cerritos College and then the INS was waiting out side the door

to deport him.

Many Cal. State Long Beach students know him. He was very active

politically.

Shouldn't we get on this?
