We are today witnessing an attack on all our civil liberties by George War Bush and his viciously reactionary attorney general, John Ashcroft, that would make Hitler proud. People died for our right to vote and we must defend it by exercising our right to vote in every election. There are not a lot of things most of us can do to oppose the fascist terror of the current illegal administration, but one thing many of us can do is vote. In addition, those of us who can vote must vote for the rest of the workingclass that cannot vote. Vote as if your life depends upon it because it always does.
If you cannot find a workingclass candidate that you like, then at least vote on the propositions, all of which are worth your consideration. As to candidates, always vote your hopes, not your fears. Do not engage in that reactionary, destructive and wasteful "lesser evil" game as the "lesser evil" is always very evil. Things only get worse when voters participate in the absurd and insulting "lesser evil" game. The message the candidates must receive is that if they do not meet your list of basic requirements, they will not receive your vote. It is long overdue that all candidates understand that our vote can never be taken for granted and that they must support the program that is of, by and for the workingclass, those of us who sell our labor for less than ,000 per year (and usually less than ,000 per year).
