A 30 minute review of news and opinions recorded from a shortwave radio. 2 files- broadcast-13.7MB & quick/streaming-3.4MB. With times and freqs for listening at home. Free to rebroadcast upon notification. Germany, Netherlands, Cuba, Spain, and Russia.

Dear Radio Friend,

The latest Shortwave Report (March 1) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality (13.7MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.4MB) (30:00) It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (Real

Player, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.

This program will be aired at 7pm PST this Friday evening at KZYX/Z Philo CA and may be streamed via http://www.kzyx.org

This week's show features stories from Radio Deutsche Welle, Radio Netherlands, Radio Havana Cuba, Spanish National Radio, and the Voice of Russia.

From Germany- a European Press review from Wednesday night, focusing on the Middle East and the Saudi Arabian Peace proposal.

From Netherlands- the UN Narcotics Board is accusing the Netherlands of undermining international law by allowing the sale of cannabis. A recent poll found that 60-80% of Muslims in 9 countries do not believe that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were of Arab origin, rather a conspiracy of the US and Israel- an excuse to expand the war on Islam; in Columbia, FARC leaders are giving the government a year to exchange prisoners for abducted hostages.

From Cuba- the presence of uniformed American Soldiers in the Columbian DMZ has stirred controversy; a Viewpoint on the US role in and the direction of the war in Columbia.

From Spain- Ecuador's army is now in control of two Amazon provinces where protestors took over control of oil wells and blocked pipeline construction; in Venezvuela, the revolt against Pres Chavez's oil policy continues, with more officials calling for his resignation; a Spanish priest wants to create debate on celibacy in the priesthood.

From Russia- the presence of US military advisors in the former Soviet country of Georgia has created huge controversy in Moscow- are we there to fight the so-called War on Terrorism or to move forward with another pipeline?; a commentary on the US desire to reconsider the Geneva Convention dealing with the treatment of prisoners of war.

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station.

I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners)

are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. No Guilt!
