Much more is at stake this spring than just the contract demands. CSU faculty are attempting to change our whole bargaining relationship with the Chancellor\\'s Office. If Reed continues to dismiss faculty needs and carefully-prepared proposals-indeed, CSU system needs- as Munitz did before his, more than our immediate contract issues will suffer. The quality of education we\\'re able to offer, academic freedom and the professional role of faculty in university governance will all suffer, as we\\'ve seen with the imposition of the corporate model elsewhere in American higher education.
