A 30 minute review of news and opinions recorded from a shortwave radio. 2 files- broadcast-13.7MB & quick/streaming-3.4MB. With times and freqs for listening at home. Free to rebroadcast upon notification. Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Spain, Cuba

Dear Radio Friend,

The latest Shortwave Report (December 21) is up at the website

http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality (13.7MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.4MB) (29:50) It's

free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the

streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem

because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (Real Player, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.

This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, Radio Deutsche Welle, the Voice of Russia, Spanish National Radio, and Radio Havana Cuba.

From Netherlands- new anti-terrorist laws are in effect in Britain and arrests have begun; the economic crisies is worsening in Argentina with food riots and looting; the rumors of an anti-terrorist attack on Somalia increase as the German Navy sends warships into Somalia's terratorial waters.

From Germany- a German official says the attack on Somalia is sure to come, with the US justifying it as an act of self-defense; the UN Meteorlogical Organization announced that global temperatures are continuing to rise.

From Russia- an opinion piece on the US intention to withdraw from the ABM treaty.

From Spain- in Columbia, Marxist rebels attacked another prison in a failed attempt to release prisoners; an attempted coup in Haiti; Peru's ex-pres Fujimori warns that removing his name from the constitution could void a peace treaty with Ecuador and increase government debt.

From Cuba- the US Congress revokes its agreement to stop using Puerto Rico as a bombing range; another Cuban is sentenced for espionage in the US; the attack on India's Parliment last week has led to a US warning that India should use restraint in its retaliation; Washington now admits that the Anthrax letters in the US mail contained US Military Anthrax, but isn't discussing current manufacturing in Utah.

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station.

I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated.
