WHY DO WE OPPOSE WAR: Our mourning deeply goes out to victims that have resulted from hate, greed, anger, violence, and misunderstanding, including the innocent from September 11. The death cycle produced by violence will never end unless the bigger person takes initiative of retaliating in a non-violent manner. Hate, violence, and anger just brings on bigger portions of its own poison. War only breeds more terrorism. Executing a terrorist suspect by bombing innocent people will never end further terrors but only increase the anti-American sentiment and support for militant extremists in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and elsewhere.
We propose that every pacified method of dealing with a situation (like terrorism) be attempted for catching the guilty party, without hurting, killing or breeding new hate in the process before resulting to violence. A long-term solution to terrorism requires that we remove the conditions that created the terrorists, rather than reinforcing them, like our current war.
Points of Unity (we ask that)
We will use no violence, physical or verbal, towards any person.
We consider speech or acts that are racist, homophobic, or sexist to be violent.
We will carry no weapons.
We will not bring or use any alcohol or illegal drugs.
We will not destroy property.
